Reverse psychology, eh Stevie?

Pretend like the RS want a piece of him, so we'll snatch him up out of spite, and suffer the consequences?

Agree with you, mate. I'm not saying I won't get behind him if he should come, I just hope it doesn't get to that point.

Totally agree. Will give him a chance if it comes to it but i hope it doesn't. Never liked the man, just something that bugs me about him, no doubting he had talent though

lol. That's true, mate.

It must still be in there somewhere. I'm just not convinced he's particularly disposed to finding it again. Plus, at 30, his next club is likely his last. I don't want people like Owen retiring here. He can do that at somewhere like Newcastle. Oh wait ...

i've already voted in this poll and i have no idea what my vote was. it was ages ago.

we have to be pragmatic. he is on a free, and we have very little transfer kitty. he still scored 1 in 3 at newcastle. players like owen and lucas neil might have to be brought in for free.

anyway.... moyes has it covered. we are getting jo on another season long loan.

I wouldn't have Neill if he paid us so the thought of us giving that money grabber money disgusts me. Would rather have no-one than him

lets forget its micheal owen for a second and just look at the stats of our possible transfer signing.

hes 29 an ex everton fan and a proven international who is well known world wide.

hes played for 3 massive clubs liverpool , real madrid(paid 8million) and newcastle(16 million)

in club football he has 160 goals in 322 games

in international football he has 40 goals in 89 games

throughout his career he has had injury problems but has still managed to bag a good goal tally ,at newcastle he got 29 goals in 71 games over 3 years and a half years.
(also its not as if its anymore than a gamble than saha with his injury history , but also owens goal tally is far greater)

to get him on a free for more than a 50% reduction in the wages that he got at newcastle seems imo potentially an amazing bit of business.

Stick with Saha.

He'd give everything to get back to his best anyway, what with the World Cup in 2010 coming up. The more I think of it the more I think it could be a good deal.

One thing though, stop saying we should sign him based on his past stats, going by that judgement we should be driving Pele over right this second
