He'd give everything to get back to his best anyway, what with the World Cup in 2010 coming up.

Probably true, but what will happen if he starts poorly, Moyes places him on the bench and Yak/Saha starts to score goals? How will he react if he isn't starting games due to the other strikers playing better than him, and the world cup is coming closer? :dodgy: Will he be happy for the club and cheer on his teammates, or will he start to sulk and start feeling that we have ruined his chances to reach the world cup?

It takes a good man to be able to accept to be placed on the bench in a team that is worse than he is used to (refering to Real Madrid here, not Newcastle or Liverpool), is Owen such a player? I'm not sure about that.

Well with Valente and VDM out, bringing in Owen is risk free tbh. He'll do more than both of them, and wont waste any more money...

Lets see mate, my own opinion is you never loose quality and Owen has it.

Apparently this has the nod, but the window is a marathon not a sprint.(y)

You never loose quality, but you lose pace and sharpness, two things that Owen relies on - two things that Owen has lost.

Give him a chance and he will take it, most probably, but it would need to be on a plate for him every time!

Interesting.

He scored 10 goals last seasons for a struggling Newcastle.

So if Newcastle can lay 10 goals on the plate for Owen, am pretty sure we could. He scored more this season than any of our players.

Would also say every player relies on sharpness.

If we're laying goals on a plate for our strikers i reckon we would be just as well off sticking me up front, i bet i'll be cheaper than Mr Owen.
