Palace Axe Pardew

That'll be the previous Chairman who virtually bankrupted the club through incompetence and vanity and now whores himself out to the media to criticise the (comparatively) very successful current board. Loathsome ego maniac.

I like Palace mate, and wish them well

I hate that bloody drum though lol lol lol

Hopefully Sam keeps you safe, although I can't help but think Rowett would have been the more interesting appointment

So what?

Every manager is unproven in the Premier League at some point

Until you take your first PL manager position, you're unproven

It's a gamble going for Rowett, but it's one I think is worth taking

Never heard of the guy and don't really follow championship football what is so 'Shane duffy' about this guy?

Mikey, in the nicest possible way I can only describe your views as bipolar. Often they're well-thought out and sensible perspectives of a situation.

Other times, they're boarding on fanciful based on sentiment and principles - there's almost no middle ground which can be quite enjoyable.

Seriously, you'd expect Palace to take a huge gamble on an unproven manager (at this level) simply to fulfil a principle of providing opportunities?

Would you feel the same if it were Everton in such a situation? I'm not a personal fan of Fat Sam, but the requirements of the club are clear.

And that"s survival! Something Sam will more than likely offer, so they"ll offer him around two years and when the job is done he'll be off.

Rowett might be successful at this level but it's certainly a much bigger risk for their board, akin to Garde at Villa last year, so it won't happen.

Didn't we do exactly this with Moyes?

True, and it was a success story. There are numerous examples however when it hasn't, and you have to consider managers who are available.

Therefore, the Palace board will look at the probability of survival under each option and in this scenario Fat Sam will look the better option.

From what I've seen, Rowett aligns pretty closely with Howe, and whilst Palace have been floundering of late, they're not terminal, and don't have to call in the Miles Finch of football just yet. Palace strike me as a rather more dynamical team on the pitch, and I don't think they'd benefit from Big Sam's style of management.

What he said

Most of the people having a go at Rowett haven't done their research, or truly analysed what he achieved

Big Sam is the "name" candidate, so they all just think he should get it, without thinking that maybe Rowett might suit Palaces set up more

Sorry abou the spelling mate how are you doing today mate you looking forward to Christmas mate
I'm fine mate. On holiday till the end of the year.

Actually I am looking forward to it. I just take it for what it is now. My kids enjoy it and I've got a good excuse to eat and drink more than usual.

Hope you're ok mate.

Why don't I tie your shoelaces for you while we're at it?

Or attend to your runny nose?

Maybe I could burp you as well?

The truth's out there Mulder, go and find it

shocked you somehow knew about my runny nose. I can't really see how this guy could get the nod over a name like big Sam, I guess your liking this guy cos he play's attacking football?

l liked what Rowett did at Birmingham and agree with Mikey concerning the ridiculous reasoning for his sacking, but Birmingham's loss could be Palace's gain, Rowett is a 'Thinking' manager I'm sure he could put survival techniques into place for this season then adapt back to norm at a later point.
As Cowboy said we gave Moyes his chance when he was untested in the premiership, however I think the Palace chairman is not the type to make this appointment and foresee greedy Sam doing his Red adair act for Palace pretty soon.
