We did try for Fonseca, didn't we? I seem to remember a lot of rumours he was coming the day before Allardyce was appointed. Anyway, whether he's the one or not, surely to heaven it is the case that Allardyce is here only until the Summer when we'll get the man we actually want long-term. And fingers crossed there's substance to the talk of a new director of football.
