Higher up the pecking order than the little angry head Holgate.
Which says a lot about Holgate.

It is perhaps no surprise that some footballers seem to show minimal attachment to their clubs when fans forums frequently contain a clutch of internet faux hardmen who cannot wait to come on line to spew their foul and mean spirited invective on players who have served their club well ,and continue to do so, such as
Jagielka.
I ,for one, applaud his excellent contribution to our cause over the years as player and captain. As Sunday aptly illustrated he is still an able and important member of our squad fully able to perform his duties well when called upon.
Phil Jagielka is not only a loyal and talented member of our squad he is also worthy of the appellation Evertonian, and there is no higher praise.
Yeah, fair point. When wanting to sure up a lead, or hold on to a draw, there are few better options than to bring on someone like Jags. The nature of the situation dictates there will be little space in behind to exploit his diminishing legs, and he has the experience and strength to defend the box under pressure.
Holgate is still developing both mentally and physically as a defender and as such Jagielka is probably above him in the pecking order in situations like Sunday - that's no slight on Holgate though who still has a lot of potential.
