I for once actually agree with you here pal!
Without critisisng Koeman too much as he has only been here a couple of months, the answer isnt always to buy a brand new team.
Koeman did a great job with Van Dijk's concentration issues and defensive positioning in 12 months for saints, whos to say he cant do the same with Funes Mori

It's definitely possible and I don't think there's any suggestion Koeman doesn't rate Mori.

However, I think it's also safe to say that, in general, Van Dijk is just better...

I think we can safely say he retired from international football last night with his cameo performance. Let's hope we can say the same about his club career at Everton very soon.

While I don't think he should have been picked for the latest England squad, he didn't actually do anything wrong last night. Made some great clearances.

At fault for the goals were Stones and Heaton, end of. Not that I care. I put money on Spain as soon as they got their first to go and equalise so I'm a winner :)

Jags has been very good for us for the best part of a decade. He shouldn't now be an automatic starter and in all honesty I don't think he will be.

Howling last night at Lee Dixon
"Jagielka went to sleep on Spain's second goal"
lollollol
Isco Goal.webp

I've circled John Stones here....can anyone explain what in God's name he is down here?
Dier has let Isco get the run on him round the back.
Cresswell is closing down the Spanish right back, instead of Walcott. Cresswell should be entrenched on the 18 yard line.
Dier should then be closing down Aspas
Henderson following Isco
Townsend tucked over.

An absolute comedy of errors for that goal. The only two person who is actually where he is meant to be is Jagielka.

Absolute L.O.L.

I didn't see the game, however one question for you in reply mate.

Did lee dixon say anything negative about Stones or Dier during that analysis?

Not that I remember mate. I did turn it off after the initial analysis though (before the break) so he might have afterwards.

He did say that the first goal "just couldn't be stopped'......after Stones showed Aspas the inside with his left, favoured foot.

I'm not Stones bashing at all... these things happen... I just find it hilarious that Jagielka gets bashed so much and he did literally nothing wrong last night.
