He's just bought his successor, so yes and no.
Only taken him three seasons. He must love Ale Houses.

Jagielka is ok, as I've conceded. But he's more Moyes than Martinez; more steak and chips than haute cuisine; more Bobby Ball than Woody Allen; more Ken Barlow than De Niro.

All players go through patches in their form and it can be particularly obvious for CBs as it often results in a goal.Wait a few weeks, he'll be toeing it into his own net, diving under crosses knocked into the box and playing through balls for forwards to run on to.
Defo. He looked like Bambi on ice when Martinez fist taught him how to play. Now he's cemented his place in the England team because he's added football to his bow. Martinez has extended Jagielka's international career by a few tournaments more.Do you think he's come on a fair bit under Martinez though? I was amazed yesterday watching him carrying the ball out of defence. While it was not John Stones it was remarkable how far he's come along post Martinez.
I am not sure about him going walkabout each season either. I do wonder if sometimes it's down to the players around him. He is normally quite consistent in his performances, but is not capable of dominating/leading a defence. He needs someone to do that for him.
Still, when Kompany is in a bit of a ropey period he does also organise and bring that to the party. Not so Jagielka. He just adds to the feeling of chaos. All players go through patches in their form and it can be particularly obvious for CBs as it often results in a goal.
Kompany for example is usually an excellent captain and player but most seasons he'll get an utterly mental red card or conceed a ridiculous og. Last year he was frankly awful almost the whole way through.
But as soon as Jags makes the least mistake, you jump on it with glee and act like it is some great failing specific to him.
Pretty hard to organise at all when you've been sent off for a stupid red card.Still, when Kompany is in a bit of a ropey period he does also organise and bring that to the party. Not so Jagielka. He just adds to the feeling of chaos.
Did he ever play on the left side with Heitinga when Distin was injured or is that new for him too? I can't remember.Defo. He looked like Bambi on ice when Martinez fist taught him how to play.
