Everyone who says Jags is no captain material, look at him when Mori came on. He talks to him and supports him perfect to settle into the game. And I remember what he was doing when Oviedo suffered his horror injury, Jags was there to calm down the lad.

Jags is a true leader, Everton style!

He's growing into the role for sure.

The most important thing is to lead by example. This is something Neville did not do, and it was like playing with 10 men for the last few years. Thankfully Jags has been outstanding all throughout 2015. His best form since 2009 in my opinion.

Errrm you what mate? When oviedo broke his leg jags turned away it was stones who went over to him unless im very mistaken, he showed a lot of the experienced lads up that day

Didnt think he'd get to that 2008/09 Form again after that injury he got, but his form in 2015 is extremely close to that. Like i said a few pages back, he's genuinely underrated by us and those outside the club.

Will be honest and i never rated him as a captain really, until this season, without Distin, Baines, and now Coleman and with Howard being basically Howard, he has had to take a huge amount of responsibility on his shoulders with the back 4's age and inexperience and the whole Stones saga going on unsettling his partner back their, absolutely first class job and think he has become a better player by having the responsibility thrown solely on him

Sign of a proper Captain is standing up and leading and taking the pressure on yourself and with a average age of the other defenders today of 19/20 he did just that again. Deserves that armband

Seeing Stones come out with the ball has encouraged Jags to do far more of the same, at one point today he was running towards the right byline and looking to cross it into the box lol
