I think he's just lost a tiny bit of spring and pace, doesn't win the headers he used to any more which makes him look a liability.
I remember a sheff utd lid telling us early doors that he is never a midfielder, but a good CH whose recovery pace allows him to play at the top level, seemed to be a good call in hindsight, as for all his qualities, he doesn't really have the technique or physical stature to play at the highest level, without the pace and athleticism, we got ten genuinely sound years out of him though, but as they say in the sopranos, somebodies got to go

Aye. He was always decent in the air, but never particularly tall. It was his spring that got him there, and when you loose a little bit of it, it shows.
Been a brilliant servant to the club, has genuinely given his everything.
I remember last season in the cup semi where he gave his all, played half injured and gave a MOTM performance.

don't know about that like, but I get you bruv

Very good performance in any case mate. That's how I recall it now, perhaps would be different if I watched it again.
It was good display, but I thought the way stones took responsibility to drag us back into the game gave him the nod in my eyes, not a popular opinion round these parts, but I'm an extremely fair individual

He has got some stick from a lot of blues but in fairness I get uncomfortable with some things directed at him. However he is now past his best and its beginning to show him up.

He has been a great servant to the club and been consistently good for us over the years but its time to drop him to the bench.

Age has caught up with him and its sad to see when you remember his best games

I thought Jag's covered Stones defensive flaws on so many occasions which was why I had rated his performance so highly. He allowed Stones to take responsibility IMO. Was an utter rock.

I was just impressed with the way a young lad, out of form, park end dinosaurs on his back, seemed to say 'yeah I'm getting us back into this', was unorthodox but boss to watch

All good things come to an end. Jags has been a fantastic player and servant to the club, that there is no doubt. But I'd hate his career here to finish on a bad note like Tim Howard's in many ways, being picked week in week out regardless of form and having the fanbase turning against him, due to his poor performances, when it is obvious to everyone he is past his best. He doesn't deserve that.

Players know when they're done, I think he knows it. I imagine Koeman has asked him to carry on until Jan when he can get in another CB, as he obviously doesn't think Funes Mori is up to the job.

Sad, but that's football.
