Phil Jagielka

I feel for him in the sense that Gary Cahill has got a few medals at Chelsea, and I rate Jagielka as a better player.

Still, a lot to be said for the fact he's captained this brilliant club and remained loyal throughout his time. Definitely falls into the category of deserving a trophy before he retires.

Spot on. Cahill is a decent defender no more no less. Now the Chelsea defence is under more pressure than can be said for years we can now see him performing averagely (if that's a word). Jags at Everton is obviously under more pressure per game than any defender in the top 4 but is still performing at a good level. He might make more mistakes than any of the top 4 but this is because those teams are more offensive because of the calibre of player in front of them.

Can't believe he's never been subject to a big bid. He has the ability to partner and succeed with any CB he plays with. Has been capped for England playing alongside: Lescott, Distin, Stones--three very different defenders. He has been a part of an all english defense that kept 16 consecutive clean sheets. A defense that allowed the 3rd fewest goals in the prem. Has played well in the Europa League, the Euros and the World Cup. Needless to say, I'm stoked he's never been a hot commodity, but it doesn't makes sense, because he is BOSS.

Ah but I was led to believe Saurez's goals in the world cup were his fault and not Chelsea's Gary Cahill & Liverpool's Stevie G

Jags is a super player who has given us his best years. Seems sound as a round pound as well. Love him. An incalculably better captain than Phil Neville, who I hope catches AIDS if he hasn't already got it.
