it's going to be harder and harder for him to play every minute of every game, he is getting older and last season and a bit of this season it's starting to show a TAD, but not enough really to damage his game massively.

I think the whole Stones debacle has unnerved Jags more than Stones. Quite probably it is him feeling the pressure thinking he has to keep half an eye on Stones performance in order to bail him out if it effects him rather than being able to concentrate fully on his own?

Plus he has to listen that he would learn more under terry then jags

He's started slow / not in best form in recent seasons, the stats probably show most seasons, gets injured and comes back better finishing the season in fine form ... generally. We cannot afford to wait over half a season for him to hit his best form, sadly our options / replacements are limited.

He's like Alistair Cook, off form but keeps his place in the team as he's captain. As mediocre Alistair Cook is as captain, Jags is worse, he's not vocal or passionate enough to make a good skipper and be the kind of leader we need.

absolute rubbish.

Phil Neville was vocal and passionate, was he a better captain?!

Nope.

Of course Neville was a better captain, it's about all he brought to the team.

Chelsea - Terry, Citeh - Kompany, Utd - Rooney ... and so on, successful teams have inspirational, vocal skippers who remonstrate with refs, get in about it to sort out any argie bargie, drive the players on through rough patches. You can often hear these people above the noise of the crowd, they're comfortable with the media and so on. Jagielka is a good player, he's not a good skipper.

Neville was so soft when it came to anything, I can remember about once when he argued with the ref of all his time captaining us, and it was about something stupid. That's not being vocal, that's being afraid and not actually using the small power over the other players you have.

All the teams you mentioned - captains do that. Jags does that, while also being a very good player, you have to be in the ref's ear nowadays, it seems, as a captain, and use that to your advantage, not just to apologise and agree with bookings. Neville was a mediocre captain, pointed a lot, in his last 2+ seasons was a hindrance while on the pitch and it made me cry when he was in midfield as it was THAT bad.
