He was standing still in shock at how his manager had lost the plot, like everyone else in the squad. Under Koeman he has, so far, been very solid.
I don't think Jags has ever been a natural leader - it's something that was thrust on him and that, at times, he's looked a little uncomfortable with. He's been, however, a good defender for many years and remains so. He'll almost certainly see his role diminish over the next two seasons but for now he and Williams look like an excellent partnership.
