Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

We were except I also have no idea what you're talking about now because Hojbjerg missed one game between the season starting and the shutdown.

He was only dropped again around the time all of this happened.

Point being at no point was Southampton in relegation danger and Hojbjerg jumping ship.

" Point being at no point was Southampton in relegation danger "
Southampton weren't thinking like that at the time.

It might be worthwhile checking your sources again, I've checked mine.

You will read from the article below he was dropped completely:

"Yan Valery dropped to bench and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg was left out altogether." - This means not on the bench!

You stated: " Point being at no point was Southampton in relegation danger "

This was their position the day they played us:

And this was their positition five weeks later, they were only one place better of and still in the bottom 3:

They were in panic according to the all press at the time, the manager was on the brink, but they held their nerve, the danger was there and they knew it.

Based on the above, I stand by everything I've said.

So he missed one game the whole season around Christmas and you're takeaway is that he can't be relied upon because he abandoned his team in a relegation fight. Ok mate.

Its not even a defence, its a fact.

The Dutch, Portuguese, French to a degree, they are all stepping stone leagues.

Just like Everton is a stepping stone club.

Lukaku, Gana, Stones, we give players a platform and we pay bloody good wages.

Thats our appeal.

You mentioned Ajax, they have a wonderful academy.

The RB cartel cheats, they have 5 clubs of various levels and they send them up or down depending on how well they do.

Who else in this league does what you suggest?

I mean we literally bought Kean last summer.
It is quite literally how Spurs went from our position to newly minted members of the "big 6." Even now when they have the ability to buy at a higher level they still make signings of younger players they hope can stay around for a long time and try to work the academy through. I think to suggest we can't make a stronger commitment or that it can't work because it might be hard isn't enough. Of course it'll be hard, we're trying to run down teams that are spending hundreds of millions more than us a year and have the ability to sign players for their bench that would be our best player.

He does reek of Schneiderlin like in many ways. Not necessarily in style of play, but same club, used to play for bigger club, questions about his attitude...
What questions? Not wanting to extend your contract with a club is not an attitude question. In fact I think anyone extending with more than a year or two left needs to have intelligence questions asked. Always keep your options open.
