Expiring 2022
James
Sigurdsson
Tosun
Delph

What would their combined wage be?

Those 4 must all be in our top 6 earners???

Has there ever been another club in the history of the game who had such a high percentage of outgoings contribute so little?

If only we were owned by an accountant.

It seems like they were with us forever as well.

Seeing them all leave (bar James maybe) will give me such a sense of freedom.

Rondon signed...

2022 the only one we should consider extending is Begovic. You've missed Lonergan but I suppose that's only a minor point. Is Allan not on a 2 + 1 like James will his contract not need extending?

Next summer will be entirely different, and for the first time you will be able to say that this is Brands squad.

Not one of the 2022 expiring contracts will be renewed.

Huge wage bill savings, will surely allow us to spend. Of the 2023 expiring players I'd be renewing:

Allan (until 2024)
Doucoure (until 2025)

Form Pending:

Mina (until 2025)
Branthwaite (until 2025)
Nkounkou (until 2025)

Davies, Coleman, Rondon, Townsend would likely move on as well.

Contracts of Holgate, Keane and Gomes are the clear dangers moving forward. Potentially Iwobi if he slips back to his form of last year.

I think Allan weve got an option to extend another season to put him on 2024.

Left Kean on there as hes not permanently signed yet -- though it looks likely.

Didnt include the backup keeper as i totally forgot about him :p

What we need to do now is working on deals to move on the players whose contracts expire in 2023 and onwards: Davies(?) Iwobi, Gomes, Keane and Holgate.

At least the last lot we may actually get transfer fees for.

So we're hoping to be freeing up about 25 million a year on June 30th 2022. That's got to be promising. After that the only real absolute deadwood in the squad would be gomesh

Probably some of Gomes, Keane, Holgate, Gordon,, Iwobi and Davies out the door next summer if we find buyers for them.

I have high hopes for next summer’s window.

Extending contracts to reduce transfer fee amortisation would be a ludicrous approach.

You would be committing to £25m in wages for players paid over the next 5 years to reduce their annual amortisation cost by a few million a year.
