When we signed this fella I said he was adding to our deadwood I was told his form for West Brom two maybe three seasons ago proved he was worth a two year contract. But it was that long ago he was in China for a reason.

Wouldn't shock me if it's written into all of the contracts that we can't terminate someone for getting investigated/charged. We can probably only sack someone without penalties if they actually get convicted of something

Less to do with PR and more to avoid the chance of legal action and/or a load of bother from the Players Union

I'm pretty sure that because he hasn't been found guilty yet , we have to pay his wages

however, if he was to be found guilty , the club might be able to sue him for any wages paid after his arrest due to breaking Morality clauses that are 99% likely to be in said players contract
