Players Out on Loan 2022/23

Went down to watch Bristol city this weekend against Sunderland. Not the best game, but Ellis Simms was a proper handful. Big strong, and finished his chances very well.
Pace and power. Can definitely see him being a decent prem striker in the football, could even be the replacement for when DCL eventually leaves. Think a loan to the championship is just what he needs at this stage, hopefully ready to fit for a place next season….

Still would have kept one of these at least. Even if DCL were healthy and even if we get a Broja or his like, there will be plenty of gametime with the 5 sub rule and I feel like we're one short.

Agree BB.

Got a feeling he will rip it up in the Championship when he could have been a very useful option for us , if only from the bench.
If so he comes back at 22 and is an option. If not then sell.
Win win.

Think people are "missing the point" somewhat with saying that we should have kept Simms here. It looks like the club (rightly) are looking to bring in another striker who will not just be a backup for DCL, but challenge him/play along side him. Simms isn't ready for that at this point in time. If/when that does happen then he would be 3rd choice at best (assuming he's ahead of Rondon). He needs to be playing regular minutes week in week out. Short term it might have been good to keep him, but long term this is by far the better option and the club are doing the right thing with him imo.

How was dobbin?

…generally positive on the Derby fans forum, one thought he looked a little ‘rusty’. Here’s a few comments;
