Ffp has taken 10 years to come to friution for the sly 6. Carragher and Gary Neville both said that it was put in place to stop 'another Chelsea'. At the time the ones in power knew that City were on the horizon to challenge and they didnt want them taking a piece of their cake. The likes of Villa and Newcastle are examples of clubs not being allowed to challenge. The likes of the rs and Man U will not break any rules- they set them.

How can we still be on that list considering how much we have curtailed our spending and sold our best players ?

The fact that half the league is one there tells its own story.

If we don’t get done and Leeds and Leicester do should we sue :dodgy:
The 3 year rolling system means we will be under the microscope for some time, hopefully the independent panel come to some sort of precedent that allows a club breathing space from further points deductions if they are trending the right direction if a club has already recieved a deduction. That's if the rules are here to promote sustainability and not produce punative action for other motives.

PSR's only reason for existing is to keep their elite clubs eternally out of the reach of the small clubs as Master's calls them. Only once in the 32 years the PL has existed has a 'smaller' club won it and that was just a freak season. That statistic alone should prompt all the 'smaller' clubs to stand together and do something about it but they are all too busy fighting for the scraps and yielding to outlandish punishments designed to keep them in the gutter.

But why should clubs be restricted from spending beyond "their means" if it's within "their owners' means"?
And Spurs, in reality, have spent heavily (but within their means) just to stand still.
This.

It's added a sporting advantage to the clubs holding the monopoly (existing turnover).

Like they needed another advantage...after having more cash in the first place.

Ludicrous.

Exactly... I've posted about an NBA style cap so won't type it out again, but in reality couldn't the PL say that clubs break even but the owners take on the loss themselves. Say a club brings in 150 million and spends 500 million then the 350 million is the owners loss and can't be saddled on the club. at least this way there could be some hope for fans that they might compete with an owner who might be happy to lose money now to make money in the future.

Spurs have been well run by their owners (ENIC?.) for years. It’s no coincidence that they’ve stopped being a mid table side any more is it?
For me I want clubs to be able to compete on their own means, not because the person who coughs them is richer than the person owning the club down the road.
We have suffered from this.
We have been denied many champions league qualifications by Chelsea and city.
We could have good owners and been well run and been around the top 4. As fans , that doesn’t seem fair. But now, we’re on the verge of bankruptcy.
