I would take 7th place, it would be an improvement on e last two years and it would give us a bit of pulling power in the transfer market. Might also attract a sponsorship deal worth a few quid. 6th would be better !!!
As Ronny states, the key is to get European football, it must be our only goal this season, whether we do that by winning the FA Cup or finishing in a good league placing, but its got to be what we aim for, thats not to say we should DEMAND it, there are some outstanding managers currently in this league, with vast sums available, every team will fight for every point, we just gotta make our name ring out.

Did this "super computer" predict anything right last season? Did it predict Leicester as champions? Can it make toast?
If Everton end up better placed than last season (not a hard task, one would assume), there will still be much gnashing of teeth for not breaking into the Euro places. Anything below fifth will mean much the same as eleventh for most, even though anything above eleventh would signify at least movement in the right direction. The algorithm is simple really, the number placement is only of value to the club's accountants. As far as the fans go, you are either in the glitzy Eurozone, the deadly drop zone or the zone of bland mediocrity. NSNO, means we should only be content with the glitzy zone, and nothing less! Finishing seventh would be a safe realistic bet this season, but that does not mean we should be content with it. Aim high and stop worrying about what a bunch of transistors have to say.
