Although he wouldn't have been my choice a year ago, I do think that we are in seriously bad position right now. Sam Allardyce, and it pains me to say this, would be a good fit at the moment.

The fact that he would only consider the USA national team, and us, suggests he holds us in regard. Compare this to Koeman - a guy that couldn't even be bothered cutting his holiday short to sign up. I like that about him, at least.

..heard something similar from somebody in the club but he’s been wrong in the past.

Meeting in Canary Wharf today by all accounts. Sam wanting 3 years, the board only willing to give 18 month contract. Allardyce wants to bring 15 members of his team, mainly sports science. The board are very worried about going down at the moment.
 

Obviously don't want Allardyce deep down.

But if you offered me 10th and start again next season right now I think I'd take it
