FFS yes we know it matters, But is it more important than winning the F.A cup?

Of course it isn't but I just disagree with the assertion that resting players in the derby gives us a better chance of winning the semi final.

If we go to Anfield and win with a Lukaku brace then imagine the bounce that'd give us going to Wembley.

It might well be if we go out against United/West Ham.

17 years since we've won at our biggest rivals ground. Every game against them is huge regardless of league placements.
The 'we won at the pit trophy' will soon lose its tarnish mate.

Whatever happens in the SF happens, but we'd be barking mad to risk our key players in that fixture 3 days before the biggest game of our season. As those bitter plebs will be baying for blood.

So the argument is play our strongest team at Anfield because we might get beat anyway on the Saturday

Great logic
yours is just as bad the other way though. you're saying play the weakest side vs the RS because we will lose anyway... truth of the matter is we could rest a couple players and still field a competitive side at the pit that's not the U21s

It does give us a better chance in the Semi if we come away with no injuries/sendings off to key players

Did I?

I said rest 3/4 key players

I agree, I don't want to lose to the RS but honestly, if I had to choose one to win and one to lose I know what I would choose...
true but you never know what's going to happen so it's not a straight choice like that. I'd be fine with resting Rom for Naisse in the derby or give Del/Stones a run out. don't need to play the U21s though because we can win ( or sadly lose) both regradless

Would anyone play Rom, Ross, Barry, or Lennon if we were playing Norwich or Sunderland away that night?
