Nope. The Arsenal team has been crying out for a solid defence and a decent holding midfielder for years and he fails to address those issues season after season, in the same way it took him an age to address the Goalkeeping issue.

No doubt he's been a top manager but not for me anymore.

I agree with this, i know he has won a few fa cups recently and we would be having a week on the lemo if we won just one.........but

You hear alot of people with knowledge on arsenal saying, they need a manager who "coaches" the players, we are in that same bracket, we need coaching, we have got to 8th on hte basis our squad is better than 13 other clubs, if they got coached better they would be further up!

Its falling into that trap we do with transfers, oooooh he comes from a big club, lets have him, he's been on the decline and would just be using it as a pension top up

Young and hungry please

Désolé, je ne parle pas français, pouvez-vous répéter cela en anglais pour moi? Je vous remercie
mes plus sincères excuses mon frère bleu. ;)

Yes. This would be a short-term fix, but it would bring a clear identity and structure to the club and his name is still a fairly big draw for the players. Even if it was only for 1-2 seasons, it gives us a chance of progression.

But their fans are spoilt brats.

Maybe or Maybe not , Arsenal expected to be consistently challenging for C/L & PL last couple of years thats fallen away and be the top club in London

also I am unsure if he has the drive / appetite to take on a project like Everton which needs a total overhaul especially the squad , to add to this work with a disfunctional board like ours ?

I can’t see him jumping straight back in, but if Moshiri and Dean offer him the world then I suppose he might be tempted.

As some sort of mentor / technical director for both Moshiri and the new guy...got to be better than Kenwright and Jim Whyte

If he was to come he would be the first world class manager we have had for ages, he would immediately open doors for us to get players we had no chance of getting before and we would be playing a brand of football that doesn't make you want to jab forks into your eyes. If he was here for 3 years it would provide a platform for a younger manager to come in afterwards and have a chance of success. Make no mistake this would shortcut a few years of trying to build up from rock bottom.

But it ain't going to happen so meh.

Most Arsenal fans I work with believe he revolutionised the club whn he arrived, but that since then he has ran out of ideas and been surpassed by all those who were once trailing behind him. They quote his intransigence ( they needed a keeper for years and he refused to accept that the dross keepers they had were the problem). He failure to figure in the league for years and his failure to win in Europe. His downward spiral continues as the one banker he always had (qualification to the CL) has also slipped away.

He no longer brings the kids through the way he did and he insists on hanging onto players whose form and fitness defy all reason to retain them? In short, i believe he would be a terrible appointment for Everton, whilst at the same time acknowledging why others would see it as an attractive proposition.

Wengers a tough one for me, on one had you have a proven pl winner who won the fa cup 3 times in the last 4 years, finished above Utd in the last 4 years and have never finished below 6th with most of the time being top 4.

Then you look at his recruitment and the way they let Sanchez and Otzil contracts almost run out, he then sold major players to rivals. His defense has been terrible for years and he sticks with players for far to long.

Not my top choice but i believe he would be a very very good appointment to steady the club, improve our style of play and given the right DOF, like Brands i could see us getting closer to the top 6.

He's better then Howe/Dyche. if we cant get our top target ie Fonseca or Emery then i'd take Wenger

Not really. He just hasn't spent silly money like the other clubs around them. The greatest manager in the world can't compete with money. Pep looked average until he went and spunked about 250 mil last year.

Please indicate below if you would prefer Marco Silva to Arsene Wenger as next Everton manager.

Any more than 3 affirmatives and I'm going back to bed.

I would defo have him over Silva, if that was the choice.
Does he still have the hunger, has he gone stale, is his age a problem? Maybe a change of scenery, and a new challenge, might invigorate him? I’m not sure.
I think he’s more likely to go abroad in my opinion. We’re a bit of a basket case at the moment. Could he arsed with just how much work we need doing on us.
