I lived in a £12 per night B&B upon my marriage failing with my one year old son for approx 6 weeks.

I used to drop him at my mums in the day, work, pick him up and go back to the dump. Literally only space in the room for single bed and a sink. Toilet and shower was communal. Breakfast with mainly tradesmen during the week; the place pretty much to ourselves the weekend.

Know one at work had a clue. Very dark days but I didn't want my perception at work to be affected so can understand.

Five promotions later everyone is happy now days.
Fair play mate. Sounds like that film with will smith in it. In persuit of happiness . Maybe it was based on you.

That's what it reminded me of too, lot to be said for those who have turbulent or difficult home lives (whether short or long term) but still put a shift in so that nobody would ever know. You'd like to think they're calling Samaritans for support though, not healthy to keep it to themselves.

On the DoF, if they're to be in charge of transfers, will we be telling Koeman to hold off until the new DoF comes in? Seems odd to let him make new signings if that'd effectively be the new guys job.

Maybe we should look at whoever is good at FIFA and appoint them DOF.... i mean people swear by it on these forums... who needs to pay out millions when FIFA (the game not the organisation!) can do the job just as well....

To be fair, a lot of teams, including Everton - use Football manager to help them with signings.

Maybe Koeman has been brought in to sort out the clubs strucure whilst grooming someone else for the job ( Unsworth ), before stepping into the role as DOF himself in a couple of years. He'd probably get more holidays too.
Puts down the crack pipe.

....I don't think you can particularly 'groom' somebody for the DoF post. It needs somebody who has an eye for a player, we certainly don't know if the likes of Unsworth is particularly good at that aspect. I'm sure Moshiri will have his best recruitment people identifying those with a proven track record in the transfer market. £100m is a lot to trust somebody with.

It is indeed - and a massive responsibility !

One that I am willing to take on - not sure we will get the right players but we will have a fantastic time trying!

I actually meant Koeman stepping up to DOF having groomed Unsworth for the managers position, obviously not worded correctly. It was all a bit tongue in cheek anyway, far too many fifa experts on this forum.

I am probably the least ITK on here as my experience is based on a string of sixties and seventies 'Carry On' films. So I'd suggest koeman gets a big chested blonde for an assistant so he can 'regularly drop the pencil' - oh wait a minute doesnt that description fit koeman himself - maybe that was the Moshiri plan all along!!

WRD1878 on Tef claims monchi is having more talks today. Monchi doesn't seem that keen, he's sigend a new coach and players already for Sevilla.
