Walsh was part of the scouting process that saw the club buy Gianfranco Zola, Didier Drogba and Micheal Essien.

In 2006 Walsh, who had started his scouting career with Bury and Chester, accepted the job of chief scout at Newcastle United under Sam Allardyce.

Two years later, Walsh teamed up with Nigel Pearson at Leicester, followed him to Hull City, before returning with him for a second stint in the East Midlands in 2011.

So apart from the recent success at Leicester has he really done anything of note?

I love quotes like this.

So, apart from the success he's had, has he had any success? lol

He's had a small amount in a very long career, Apart from Chelsea he's mainly been in the lower leagues

I just think the DOF job is huge for us and wonder if he's the right man

Like I said, Maybe he's here because he can spot a bargain

I don't see what he's done to merit having one of the top jobs at Everton

Only thing I can think of if we aren't spending large amounts of money and he's being brought in to dig out some bargains

If that's the case fair enough

You're judging him on what exactly? Where he has been?

I have no idea how the club are positioning this role, do you? Is it like Koeman said "Head of Scouting" or Director of all football related matters barring coaching....?

We both don't know. until we know the scope of the role we can't say if he is going to be good or bad.

Monchi buys bargains and sells them high would you have had the same statement based on us appointing him? I doubt that somewhat.

Of course we don't know, I thought the idea of a forum was to discuss

Like I said take away Chelsea and he's had a short stint at Newcastle under fat sam, Bury, Chester and Hull

Hardly awe inspiring is it

He did sign Kante though, Not sure if you know that

"So apart from scouting some of Chelsea's best ever players, and helping a lower league team win the premier league, he really hasn't done anything"

As mentioned previously, just imagine if the piece read like this:

"Everton have completed a deal for the current Primera Liga champions Director of Football, Seba Walsinho. Walsinho, previously at Barcelona, oversaw a meteoric rise at the Spanish club which saw them climb from the 3rd Division to Primera Liga champions, whilst unearthing a previously unheard of French midfielder last season for £6m and selling him for a profit of £24m this season."

You would be frothing.

The idea is to discuss and thats sound, but thats not what you are doing - you aren't discussing, you are making statements about something we dont know about.

No comment about Monchi either? didn't want to discuss his buying low selling high? He once bought Dani Alves for buttons and sold him for a large profit. Not sure if you knew that

He's credited as being part of a "Team" that brought in Zola, Essien and Drogba

Did he spot them? Nobody can be sure

Is this seba walshino any good like

The three players mentioned above for Chelsea hardly required scouting TBF. Drogba was very well known for example.
I think the Leicester job is his main sucess, and I'm of the opinion that he and indeed Leicester just had a freak of a season at the perfect time.

Guess we will all see what happens next eh.
