If it was flipped the other way and our depleted squad was hit and we had to use academy players or reserves I feel like people would be asking for it to be postponed as well, You can't expect to be given or taking points if your team is hit by a pandemic virus for me anyway.
Correct. But City would have a right to full disclosure of details as to why it was postponed.

And you can be damn sure they'd demand it

The PL said themselves that if you have 14 players available the game will be played. There no doubt a series outbreak is hitting the country but I’d be very surprised if City don’t have 14 players available.
Also depends which strain of Covid they have 1/2/3

When you have walker mendy and foden already breaking guidelines it’s hard to give them the benefit of the doubt.

It's an absolute miracle that none of our lads have tested positive so far.

We had Kean breaking protocols in the spring and I believe one of our other youngsters did too.

They're young lads, make mistakes, it happens.

It's hard to blame a footballer for the spread of a virus.

It's people like him who are saddest of all, desperately trying to keep an association with them now that they are something, they'd sell their soul for a few likes and follows on Twitter.

He probably dreams of being asked to open a local takeaway or something, on the back of his "former Man City" status. Call him a "legend" in the process and he'd waive 10% of his appearance fee.

Who the fck is kevin horlock. Never heard of him.

I agree

Not like we are asking for the points though. I would rather lose the game than be handed points.

The flap about our press release is pathetic

Agreed I think we're quite in our right to ask for the details, City are hardly known for being clean are they.

That club statement is a big error in terms of a proportional response.

Everyone was disappointed the game couldn't have gone ahead. However, this is a pandemic and all bets are off when a club is being affected to such an extent that it will also likely represent a danger to Everton players too.

It is lacking in class to demand "full disclosure" in such a public manner. If they wanted full disclosure they should have kept that as part of a dialogue with the PL and City.

I'm actually shocked and not a little bit ashamed by that EFC statement.

No it isn't, We're entitled to that and bringing it into the public domain makes sure it happens or people will be on the PL's case about dodgy talks with City behind closed doors.

I'm sure it will all come out in the wash.

City will not have wanted this game to be postponed and possibly the Chelsea game. They have a massive backlog of games already.
I've reservations about their being not able to field a team who were Covid negative given the depth of their squad. It may be more about their players not bothering about the restrictions we all have to abide by. And because of this they should face sanctions. As a Blue I'd prefer we are given the points and they were fined and given a warning as to future behaviour. But given the Premier League they won't even get a slap on the wrist.

It's the way it spreads that's the issue though too.

they had 4 positives the other day, and have had a further five two days later - despite those five all testing negative when the first batch of tests were done.

So you'd have had players who were likely going to test negative yesterday, playing us, then probably going on to test positive in two days' time, and in all likelihood passing it on to us.

There's no evidence that's what's happened though. There's no way we can currently know how their players or staff members picked it up mate.

They could have gone to the shop and got it. One of their family members could have gone to the pharmacy and got it. We just don't know.

There's no blame attached to City, imo.

There's also no blame attached to us for releasing that statement.

It's on the Premier League to consult both clubs - not just make a decision because one club asked them to.

All we can do is wait and see, I wonder how these players get it, as they are in a bubble already and shouldn’t be out and about really

Thought it was niasse

There was a fake video of a kean lookalike throwing haymakers on the dock but I think he had a stripper party as well
