Imagine we played the game, got a draw then a further load of City players tested positive and passed it onto some of our players.

Due to a number of positive results on Thursday our game has to be postponed with West Ham.

Would it be fair if we had to forfeit the 3 points for that game??

Right, but even in response to that question, your response of them thinking they're above the rules doesn't really wash either.

It could be a factor, like it's a factor in anyone getting it possibly, but in all likelihood it's probably from a family member going out to a shop, or their kid at school, or mixing with someone who isn't a player at the training ground.

If LFC had made it you can be 100% certain the majority on here would be deriding and condemning it.

Big mistake that public statement. I dont think there'll be too many won over to our cause when hundreds of people per day are dying of that virus in this country alone and Manchester and its environs are right in the thick of it. The club (and whichever individual it was should make themselves known) have let petty football matters get the better of them because they felt they should 'speak up' for the fans.

That club statement is a big error in terms of a proportional response.

Everyone was disappointed the game couldn't have gone ahead. However, this is a pandemic and all bets are off when a club is being affected to such an extent that it will also likely represent a danger to Everton players too.

It is lacking in class to demand "full disclosure" in such a public manner. If they wanted full disclosure they should have kept that as part of a dialogue with the PL and City.

I'm actually shocked and not a little bit ashamed by that EFC statement.

Restaurants are shut and they can get home delivery, there no where for them to go. Everyone should be staying IN unless you really really need to go out. To work or for food, otherwise should be staying in.

They were told hours before KO, and its come after City played a game where they'd had positive tests beforehand

Plus, we weren't consulted on the matter - so well within their rights to get a reasoning, say it pops up again later in the season. PL needs to have a line and stick to it, really

They are requesting full disclosure because it looks like City's initial request for the game to be postponed was rejected and then that decision was changed.

Everton have every right to request how the decision was made and for it to be transparent so everyone knows where they stand in case this happens again.
