It was revealed 3 days ago Kyle Walker and Gabriel Jesus had Covid, so their "bubble" had already well been breached.

I think, based on what I just heard, thats the exact issue. They got new results today, the outbreak was way bigger then the two players, and now, until new tests come back, they cant say who has it.

That said, I am confused why they have to wait a few days for results; thought we had a rapid test now. Maybe they do a different one. dunno.

But I've got no clue how many players need to have Covid to trigger a postponement.

Also the "SAFETY FIRST" shouts are odd to me given there wasn't a peep about it 3 days ago when Walker, Jesus etc were confirmed with Covid.

Players who were in contact with Jesus and walker probably tested negative then.
But more cases have now emerged and they cannot be sure who is positive and who is not ?

Yes I seem to recall that Blackburn failed to fulfil a match due to injury and the opposition were awarded the points. I think it even led to Rovers being relegated.

As my Red colleague just pointed out, they apparently played a game earlier in the season with four players isolating due to COVID.

As you're suggesting, either there is a threshold that's been met, which isn't public, or there isn't a threshold and it's been a spontaneous decision by the PL.

I think the growing issue here is the lack of transparency over the decision: if they feel it's right to postpone, why? Will this be a set precedent from now on?
