I'm presuming an independent candidate would think they could gather up the middle ground. Probably a ridiculously rich one.
Trump v Sanders would make for interesting media coverage as they tried to work out which one to present as unelectable.

Hard to see any logic in him doing that though. Can't believe he thinks he'd win so presumably he's likely to split votes and depending on which side of the argument he is appealing to most it allows in their opponents.

Super delegates will mean nothing if Sanders can get The Avengers on board.
Especially Joanna Lumley.

Maybe just highlighting a system that's rigged is worth it.

The media have been writing Bernie off since he entered the race. Don't forget he started from Zero as opposed to Clinton who is one of the most famous politicians on earth.

Its nothing short of remarkable what he is doing people writing him off just don't understand the levels of anger people have with bought politicians.

Bernie has the momentum now he is starting to get endorsements from the African American community once the word gets out they will vote for him in their droves.

Both populists, IMO. Best two personalities of the lot. Would be a terrific fight, but wonder whether a third candidate would emerge in that scenario.
