Ferry trip is not too bad from Holyhead and the drive from Dublin is not too bad. You get a good 3 hour rest on the ferry. There`s a couple of tolls on the way down on the motorway, 1 for the M50 if you use it and 1 on the M4.

Do the pre-season games count towards credits does anyone know? Seems ridiculous as will effectively force me to buy them all when I only want to go to one or two.

Last time we played them it was just the U21 because we played Wolfsburg the same day. Coleman made the starting lineup playing the first half.

2010 the first team played out in Wolfsburg the same day the u21s played Sligo. Coleman played the first 30 mins for the U21s (think the interest was to see Coleman play against his former team).

They may get you fit but we need to play some quality in order to know good we can be.

Pretty sure the season we got Champions League, we didn't win a pre-season game. They mean next to nothing other than fitness.

Carrick on Shannon is a perfect rest stop on the way down. Very nice food options there - try Cryans on the town by pass. You won’t be disappointed.

There'll be a home game against a top level team the week before the season starts like always so its a good mix of opposition I think.

I do an overnight into Belfast mate if I'm driving over I cut in that way and down to the republic. Doesn't take too much longer and I've had a bloody good kip
