BARB research suggests that less than 6% of total viewing will be pub based when it comes to major sporting events and, since 2016, Nielsen TAR (total audience ratings) figures adjust to include Pubs, gyms, Airports etc so your argument about the Big Red Arms is questionable, furthermore there will be a significant increase in small gatherings given the pubs are closed with more eyeballs per household than usual, which will not be captured in overnights; which is the only data available at present.

reality is there are a lot of people watching this, probably out for morbid curiosity, factored with the lack of holidays etc & will reduce once the novelty has worn off
You ever been in town when the RS are on telly?

The pubs are packed.

Does Nielsen even do much research on the UK telly market or did those figures come from a US study because 6% seems wildly low when I think of Liverpool City Center.

think about that spread across the entire country, of course town will be packed, but what’s the impact in Birmingham for example - 6% a UK study, obviously can never be 100% accurate & only a guide, day of the week a Midday Vs 1945 KO would all have a massive impact

Where'd the 6% figure come from mate?

It seems low to me and more in-line with the USA than the UK.

As much as it pains me it's a bit of a quandary whether the rs win the title before the 4th of July.
If it drags on and they have to win it post 4th of July - the media with have a photo opportunity fapp fest - pubs open rs back on the tele clapping stools - they will paint it like a 2020 version on VE day - it will not be good.

One positive test from the latest round. So whoever he or she has been in contact with will isolate for 7 days is my understanding of it.

Don't know about anyone else but I've enjoyed the restart.

Lack of crowd obviously makes it less than perfect but if your concentratin on the game you don't really notice anyway. The fake crowd noise, as long as it's not too loud, is fine and you do forget the crowd isn't there.

I think those wraps the premier league have done help in that aspect - seeing banners and stuff rather than empty seats gives the illusion, especially on a closer shot, that there is a crowd there but not on screen.
