What's everyone's thoughts of the season getting canned if COVID infections don't start to decrease, let alone fans not being allowed into stadiums in the north west? If the UK continues with numbers of 10,000+ new infections a day for any prolonged period, I just can't see football being allowed to continue, sadly
Yeah I worry about that, but I dont see many cases being linked to the sport, would be different with crowds such as the Athletico game at Anfield.
As long as the players stay in bubbles it should be ok.
I actually fear the FA cup could be a problem with Premier League teams playing small clubs, like the orient Spurs game

This season is a right off in terms of fans in stadium until next year sadly.

If they delay the season, I can see cup comps being the first hurdle to save the Premier League and European football.

It is completely unforgivable that International football still be played with cases still active.

Said it at the end of last season, this money grab attitude has been the killer of football and to see plays to "save" lower league by allowing big clubs more financial strength in the top flight is suicidal allowing billionaire clubs the keys to the palace will kill the game for hundreds of clubs who get players cherry picked every season.

Start by salary capping players, removing agent fees for pushing moves and have honouring contracts.

I think they have been fairly clear in terms of agreeing the criteria here, both in terms of games and the season. Unlikely outcome, but I wouldnt rule out a 2 - 3 month hiatus again come end of the month sadly. Country is absolutely goosed thanks to mismanagement

Completely agree. Even more insane is that there are international friendlies being played in this window, I mean, even in non-pandemic times, what's the point? The Euros should have been canned, and even 2022 World Cup Qualifiers (i.e. South American qualifying) surely could have been delayed until, say, the March 2021 international window when hopefully vaccines might start being available.

all comes down to no single body administering football. I'm sure they would argue the same about Europa league and CL, which is a fair point.

No one should be allowed take a flight for sport at the moment IMHO

What is this all about? I haven't heard the government say anything about getting fans back, so are united trying to make rules again themselves and forcing the government to make a decision.

At the end of the day, its not safe to have fans in this country, we're never going to get rid of the virus if we're rushing stuff like this. Just wondering why united have done this when it's probably for no reward.

They're loosing loads of money, but that's their fault if they've spent beyond their means. They knew they were in trouble and how much did they spend this summer? They didn't offload certain wages, they could have saved money that way.

Bin it. Lives are more important than sky collecting subscriptions for a minority of clubs .... sorry .... football.

I have no interest in us winning an asterisk title.

The thing is, the rs get an asterisk title because all the rules were changed half way though, not because there was no fans.

But as per point 1, yes, should be binned, it doesn't consume our lives, it's a hobby at the end of the day, saving lives is so much more important than football, the league should be suspended and resumed only when it's safe.

And whats the betting if Liverpool are of the pace to win it after new year the league does get binned off?

The leagues all sorted their situations if this season was knackered in the summer. Havnt a clue what the rules are mind, but pretty sure its agreed.

My best understanding of the rules as they are agreed...
- If a team have 13 (of 25) or more Covid negative players a game will go ahead
- If a ground is unavailable due to covid restrictions, game goes ahead in appropriate Neutral venue
- PL prepared to delay season as required to complete
- Last resort of cancellation (ie Void) would only be considered if less than 50% of games played
- Exact agreement if more that 19 games played due to be agreed between club in October (PPG v H&APPG v go back to GW19) I couldn't find that decision sorry

what's peoples thoughts in the 5 subs. Initially I was of the opinion it was an inherent advantage to the big squads, beginning to change my mind and fear they will be the "last men standing" when the dec - feb kicks in & everyone is playing two a week.

What as voted down to help level the playing field could well end up having the opposite affect

My thoughts on the whole project restart is to bin it off completely. Hear the latest about Denmark squad not able to travel and England moving their game off shore. What an absolute farce it’s become. Without the fans there they are glorified training matches.
