I’m not saying it isn’t. Just that it makes more sense than him being paid almost 50% more than what Carlo was on.

As with any of this stuff I would also take it with a massive pinch of salt as the press just throw numbers about with no real clue of what is actually happening.

Look at what happened with James when we had apparently spent £20m on him or whatever it was until Real disclosed that it was a free.

Sancho was £82m yesterday and now he’s £73m. Most of the press don’t have a clue and there is no point getting annoyed by stuff that has little to no information behind it.
To put it into context, I have worked since summer of 1975 as a school leaver, and I have never been unemployed.
I have not earned anywhere near £7.5m in all those years.
Football finances are out of control, and I no longer contribute to it in any way, shape or form.

Because he was the most qualified to apply for the job?

I know some think Potter taking Brighton to 16th in the table trumps a bloke having a Champions League, Europa League, La Liga Title, FA Cup & Copa Italia on their CV but not with Usmanov.
Jesus mate do you get paid according to the number of your posts?
You post an unending number saying essentially the same thing.
Give you fingers and the rest of us a break and have day off please.

Sorry, youve just said he is only going to get us 12th - make your mind up about his abilities please.

I never said that at all - I said IF we came 12th the owners wont be arsed and why would they?

The league is very competitive and our squad is largely bang average with slow plodders, no right hand side and 1x decent CF.

You're deluding yourself if you think Guardiola could take this lot into the Champions League never mind Benitez.

the bubble will burst one day, sending all kinds of clubs to the wall. It simply can't continue, with even average players earning £60k a week. Working mans sport my eye

Lost count of the ignorant posts describing Benitez as washed out, Chinese failure etc, and describing Moshiri in disrespectful terms. They have not a clue what they are talking about, just spouting drivel and pretending they know better than those at the centre of the club from the owner downwards. But carry on anyway.

So it goes back to the point about why bring him in at all? Why confront the fans in such an agressive manner?

Moshiri made it clear today in in his interview that he was deeply affected by previous protests, but the fan base will never accept a 12th place FSW team. Not in a million years, despite your attempts to sugar coat the issue.

I think Guardiola would be happy to keep this lot out of the Championship never mind take them to the Champions League

There is no way he is on £15m a year. Even if he was on that in China it’s a completely incomparable situation as they have to pay ludicrous money to entice people over there.

If Carlo was on £11m as has been widely reported then I expect Benitez will be on less than that and £15m over two years makes sense. With incentives on top based on Europe, trophies.

what leverage could he possibly have to command a salary like Carlo. He was desperate

Ancelotti has just finished 12th and 10th and wasn't under an ounce of pressure from the board.

Unless Benitez has us in the bottom few places he'll be here for the next 2-3 years whilst BMD is built and the club finds some long needed stability.

You may not like that mate but it is what it is - support the team or its going to be a boring 2-3 years without footie for you.

Haha you think a 12th placed FSW is going to be in a job the following season?
