I'm not backing Benitez, I have to underline that. I give tacit support. It's just that I can see he's got a lot of qualities (discipline, drive, a winner) that we sorely need at this football club. I particularly like that if he does get things going here he wont take prisoners in getting shut of hangers on - in the first team squad AND the coaching clique. Not seen you this optimistic about a managerial appointment before.
I agree that the club and players need a complete change of mindset, which I honestly thought Ancelotti would bring with him, wasn’t to be the case though.
As much as I was against his appointment I guess it’s let’s see what happens now.
I think he;s going to sideline Ferguson and bring through Baines.Bet you're delighted at the involvement of Baines and Ferguson too.
Yes Benitez has hit the ground running.
Benitez certainly didn't seem comfortable having to answer the question on what Ferguson's future role would be.I think he;s going to sideline Ferguson and bring through Baines.
I'm a pragmatist: if Baines is a good coach I want him in. If Benitez determines he is then that's more an endorsement than someone from the clique at the club telling me he's got potential.
He's binning him, effectively.Benitez certainly didn't seem comfortable having to answer the question on what Ferguson's future role would be.
Then they’re madI bet there’s plenty of our fans that will be livid if he does well.
Vic , I despise Benitez but I hope that he does well at Goodison because, by definition, that will mean that Everton have done well.I bet there’s plenty of our fans that will be livid if he does well.
In theory Ancelotti had many of the same qualities. Maybe even Koeman.I'm not backing Benitez, I have to underline that. I give tacit support. Day before the Southampton game.Anyone know when his first press conference is?
I seem to remember James McCarthy saying when Martinez came in that he was so good tactically it was like having a 12th player on the pitch!!!!
So did iDarren Gibson always thought there 22 players on the pitch.
At least he'll be at the ground and not on the golf course or phoning his buddies at the super league HQ for a jobIn theory Ancelotti had many of the same qualities. Maybe even Koeman.
Obviously didn’t work out that way.
We only learnt that subsequentlyAt least he'll be at the ground and not on the golf course or phoning his buddies at the super league HQ for a job
Not so sure on the drive and discipline parts over the latter parts of Ancelotti's tenure here.In theory Ancelotti had many of the same qualities. Maybe even Koeman.
Obviously didn’t work out that way.
