Don’t get upset mert, it’s ok to acknowledge failureHow did he fail?
He left them as an established mid table premier league club.
He left due to empty promises and a lack of ambition.
He had multiple offers on the table from Ashley.

If you guys are thinking Steve Bruce did well, the foundation was there.
He wasted 40mn on Joelinton & Bought ASM for 17mn, who was injury prone. But had to rely on ASM, to finish 12th. Spent and still the same.
When they were in the Championship they had had squad that was being paid out 2x as much as the competition so you can't exactly call it a Championship squad.I don't really want to get in to this again, but he had a championship level squad and didn't have a pot to wee in
Can ye imagine how moody it'll be if we get pumped by Southampton on opening day
What money he did get at Newcastle he pished away on a fair bit of crap. I wouldn't have given him more either.

No we just don't want a fat kopite who belittled the club and stands by it.
Funny reading people saying "You'll change your opinions if he wins us a trophy".
We are on a 25 year drought going on 30. If Carlo Ancelotti couldn't fix that then Benitez definitely isn't going to do it.
He's here to bring us the same midtable finishes we have had for decades with the added bonus of being an odious kopite nobhead. What's not to love?
Yes, he was wrong. If you don't think so then I can tell why you're the type of supporter who is happy with this appointment.Ah would you have rather him given some guff about him not meaning it, only joking, Everton has always been in his heart???
Let's get down to brass tacks here. ..... Was he wrong?!
Or let's put it another way - did you enjoy watching Everton park the bus and celebrate a draw against Liverpool?
Because he's clarified the context.....why were we playing for draws? The subsequent record against that lot suggests that he was right to rib us ......
Fans with absolutely no sense of direction are holding this club back. The celebration following the Derby win was embarrassing - it highlighted just how low we had gone in previous years
Not nice to read this is it. ... But it's true
Jack Stephens free header in front of the Gwladys after 8 minutes to set the tone for the season.
Yeah let's see what the man who led Newcastle and Daifeng to glory can do better than him.If Carlo Ancellotti couldn't fix it???
How? By telling the players to "go and play' and letting his son take coaching whilst clearly not being arsed in general ..... Hence not having any answers as to why we had a poor home record and abysmal end to the season.
Nah stay and boo the rotund oneMight walk out after that.
He won in 2005 against them with a much weaker squad, and he managed to reach the final again with relatively better squad but still not better then AC Milan.Like Benitez when he lost to Milan in 2007 pal.
There's a reason why Guardiola's last clubs have been Bayern and Barca and Benitez last ones were Newcastle and Daifeng.
Actual comedy here.
It was bloody awful that day though, as it was against most of the top six, so I say he has a fair point.Yes, he was wrong. If you don't think so then I can tell why you're the type of supporter who is happy with this appointment.
If you don't think he is going to put this team out to secure a draw against better teams away then you're going to be very wrong.
May as well not even go in the first place if that's your stance mate. Let another fan in who'll actually get behind the team.Might walk out after that.
