is this like word association

ok my go

goodison

You missed out Park.

I have seeing our club since the very early sixties, ahve seen great success and failure. I just want to get to get back some success. Gave Carlo support and he crapped on us. But I will give Rafael support and hope it works out.

Word association not phrase , so was a bit snookered and prevented from using park unfortunately.

like you I’ve been fortunate to see us the best team in Europe and I’ve said I’ll support the team and give it a chance but I’m not signing up for anything where anybody, particularly a RS hero who is coming to the end of his career blindly gets 100% supported come what may .

Come the Southampton game I’ll be there and I’ll be cheering the team on but whilst I’m here I’ve every right to question the appointment and express my doubts .

Never said blindly or 100%.

Had over 60 year supporting our club and seen much just like some other old guys on here and enjoyed and want to see more and at least get to see a game in BMD before happy hunting ground beckons.. BTW how old was Carlo?

Lost on the word game, never mind mate.

Ignore the word game stuff I’m made a silly throwaway comment because you’d simple answered Everton earlier .

Ancelotti is the same age or a few months older than Benitez but his last job before us was Napoli in the champions league. whereas Benitez took the money and semi retired to China and that’s my concern .

Oh so large Samuel got this did he ? Everyone was made up, saying what a boss appointment it was. Behave.

that appointment was made at least to get us out the crap.

you seem to be pro Benitez because you didn’t like ancelotti , which I’ll be honest mate is odd.

No one liked Alladyce because at the time we were still in the early days of finally having money and were expecting a world class manager coming in.

Fast forward 4 years after Brands has wasted money on tosh and left us in a precarious position FFP wise, added in with the new stadium being under way - most fans are realistic in knowing Benitez was likely the best available manager this summer - the only top manager who was floating around was Conte and no way was he taking this job when we supposedly have some form of FFP restrictions in terms of spending.

Everyone backed Koeman, Silva and Carlo from the start so it should be no different with Benitez. If he does well here the history books wont forget the names of those abusing him from day 1.

We didn’t have to go for a ‘top’ manager though did we?
Alternatively we could have identified a younger attack minded manager whose reputation was on the rise and who was ready to step up.
That would have be have been my preference and is why I am so disappointed with the character we have.

The team cant succeed if fans are on the manager/clubs back before a ball has been kicked thats the point.

How is calling the fella fat, obese, putting up offensive banners, burning your season ticket help the team??
Well other than his kids and those on his payroll I doubt he’s too aware of people calling him fat , again I refer you to Sam although I’m again aware you’ll swiftly shift the parameters. The banners were put up before his appointment whilst there players were away . As for burning season tickets have you got any actual evidence of that happening or is it , heaven forfend , hyperbole to suit your agenda ?

look if this bloke fails and it’s In any way related or traced back to fan reaction I won’t blame him I’ll absolutely blame the people who appointed him knowing what would almost inevitably happen when they did . In reality what will probably happen is he’ll fail and get less time than anyone before him from the fans to put it right and know what , everybody told them . However in that chicken and egg world we can all see what came first .

the team will be helped by the fans based on performances and winning matches however fans speculating about the pros and cons of the said appointment on an Internet forum will , and I’m sorry to break this to you , have zero impact On how the manager or the team get on . Given your incredible and fulsome support though if he succeeds you’ll be able to Lord yourself as an absolute stalwart super fan so well done.

With this squad of players though? They cant string two passes together and we haven't the ability FFP wise to go spend £150+ million this summer on a new squad thats what people keep missing.

Give Marco Silva this squad and we end up in the bottom 3

Give Potter/Anorim/Gallardo whoever this squad of players and tell them to play open expansive football and we end up in the bottom 3 - the same bottom 3 the club simply can't afford to be in whilst a new stadium is being built.

The club tried the young/on the rise gambles on Koeman & Silva and it failed. Its really no suprise they have then gone for experience in Ancelotti & Benitez.

I personally wanted a younger manager but someone with the same personality as Benitez - no nonsense, not being the players best mate, tough, emotionless. We've needed that for a long time as this squad of players are filled with gutless frauds who need a kick up the arse.

Outside of Simeone, Conte, Klopp, Pep there aint many top managers around like that. The only one in the PL at present is Dyche and he isnt a top manager and fans would have moaned had we appointed him.

Wouldn’t that have been a wonderful idea , I don’t understand why it wasn’t even considered. It seems as if premier league experience was the only criteria and then they’ve gone “now who don’t the fans really want off this list ?”

I love the way you know exactly how life pans out you won’t let anyone select any manager other than the ones you ‘allow’ then you say ‘that one means we’re relegated ‘ at least you’ve finally stopped forcing Eddie Howe down our throats as the only viable alternative like you did for a couple of weeks .
