I've said this many times, right or wrong he doesn't get the leniency of time because of his back ground.
He knows that but he got offered a cushy contract with a job on his doorstep so he's hit the jackpot.
And will likely get a decent pay off when he gets sacked.

OK he hasn't had as much money as his predecessors but he must have known it was a virtually impossible job to succeed in

It was stupid to give him the job as it was never going to end any way other than this.

The people who have tried to back him have made themselves look very stupid also.

It's still not too late to admit you know nothing about football and got a kick out of winding up your fellow blues with an OTT love in for Benitez, but it will be soon.

Repent now or face your doom.

It would have been harsh on Gbamin but ultimately Rafael selected him, knowing he was not macth fit, had hardly played in the Prem ever and after the Watford match should really have known better to risk him in this, we needed a performance from the Team and he set it up all wrong from the get go, yes he changed it but damage was done.
lol

"Harsh" ???

He should have his contract paid up and booted out the door.

Really? Your one complaint. No problem with how he's got us set up on set pieces or getting rinsed with our two man midfield? That's fine, is it? Rondon, ffs.
Much like taking a horse to water but not being able to make it drink it; you can set up a defence but they dont necessarily (if they're passive clowns) defend very well.

Another baffling decision that has wasted another year. Made even worse now that Spurs have a competent manager, Newcastle have serious financial backing and West Ham seem to have some on the horizon with this Czech billionaire wanting to invest. Also Leicester appear to have a good set up and get top dollar for the players they sell.

Each stupid decision or money wasted on substandard players costs us. You can't get it right all the time but Everton seem to get everything wrong all the time.

Yes Harsh Dave, sorry but while I agree its time for him to be moved on, which in itself deserves some sympathy for the terrible injuries.

It is Benitez job to asses the fitness, readiness and game plan and on those 3 fronts he failed miserably, threw a player in with no game time into a match that would have seen us, albeit falsely, in top 7 against a team who in general have been poor overall but would rightly target him as a further weak link to exploit, it was like chucking him to the lions as a deflection from his piss poor management so thats why its harsh, use him as a sub, but to effectively try and give him a start after 2 years out, is a ridiculous decision by a spent force and look how it backfired but now he has an "Excuse" "Gbamin an all that!

Disgusting, pathetic excuse for a manager!

Outside of the board/Brands/players another key problem is our fans lack any patience whatsoever.

Outside of the big clubs that win stuff its only really us, Spurs, WHU and Newcastle that have fans who demand results regardless of the quality of squad.

Graham Potter said he struggles with the pressure from Brighton fans - imagine him here winning 1 in 5 for example. We turned El Loco bald, Koeman aged 15 years and Silva had suitcases under his eyes never mind bags.

Its all a perfect storm and for me its one we have to ride out as no easy answers or solutions.

Benitez has 18 months left on his contract - let him see it out and get the wage bill trimmed with the usual dossers out the door over the next 3 transfer windows / contracts expiring whilst spending responsibly on players that suit the system i.e a CB to partner Mina who is aggressive and can attack the ball / play zonal, a proper RB that can get up and down the pitch, another Doucoure monster in the middle of the park.

If results / performances pick up from that with key players back from injury then fans are happy he gets his 3rd year extension activated if not and we remain stagnant then we wish him on his way and have the finances to bring in a decent manager and actually back them in the transfer market.

Ha Ha Ha...it's the manager's fault that his DoF bought a donkey and in an injury crisis he's turned to using him out of desperation.

FF, I've heard it all now.

All the folk going on about "we are in 10th" or "we have 14 points", I hope you all realize the only top 10 sides from last year we played so far are Leeds, West Ham and Utd.

We still have Spurs, City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Leicester to come in this first half of the season.

Right now I wouldn't back us to take a point from any of those.

We are sleepwalking into calamity with Benitez here.

From now to January Brentford, Palace and Burnley look our only chance of scrapping a few points. If we do manage a few we'll be around 16th I reckon.
