there is some damned if you do damned if you don’t- he does need to see what he has and some things he has tried haven’t worked-

We must back him imo. We can’t afford to change again. If he coaches as well as he has in his best passages of his career then we’ll be fine.

but:

the mentality must change. I’ve backed Keane, he’s had some terrific spells, but he’s so bereft of fight, he has to go. Davies, I’ve always liked him, but if he’s still a fringe player after 100 games and not a leader or at least a regular then he needs cleaning out. Coleman’s anger seems more petulant than inspirational. Holgate sulks. Godfrey’s COVID had been a disaster, he’s a shadow of himself. Gomes does not have strong mentality. Funny that Delph was our one fighter yesterday. Iwobi is mush. Pickford much improved but still a little iffy, prone to the odd sulk still. Icelandic Voldemort worst of all imo even before his big trouble.

I reckon all us ‘internet fans’ think that to be hard to beat, we need to do a job on Son.
Get close to Kane at set pieces as well as around the box. Just proper closing down like.
But I reckon Benitez has his own ideas.
 

The football and state of the club is rancid atm. Buuuut I am kind of enjoying the subplot of the building pressure on Rafael. I'm hoping that after we lose to the RS he might explode and say what we all know about the state of the board and how we're run. That's the only positive I can find right now, he might be one of the few people in football who will call out our garbage owners.
 
Average squad of players will usually get average results. That's the way this season is panning out and it's been the way it's gone for years now, so I don't think it's fair to blame Benitez for our failings.

There's a whole other debate to have around what a ridiculous appointment it was in the first place but he's here now and I really can't see the board doing anything to change that.

Mina I’ll give you, as I said they don’t have good CBs but in other positions it’s difficult to make an argument for our players. Even Reguilon looks far more consistent than Digne.

Son would be snapped up by any big club that could afford him. He’d go for 100 million. He’s the type of player that can run the entire pitch and curl it in left or right foot, he can play any position in the front three and has pace to burn.

I’m a massive fan of Calvert Lewin but the team has to play to him. He’s not got the technique, control or versatility of Kane and Son.

I dont think anybody would pay 100m for Son mate. City offered 80m for Kane and walked away. If DCL goes, he will go for around 80m, which will be a lot more than Kane does. I'd have him over Kane now to be honest

But if your picking Reguilon on form then. DCL only on 4/5 games gets in over kane. And Doucoure gets in over Ndombele, who’s been in and out of the team and not very good. Gray over Son on form?
 
I'd say the only Spurs player who gets in a combined Everton/Spurs XI is Son (Kane as well on his best form).

It's just the fact our second XI aren't great to say the least.

Take Kane and Son out and Conte has got little to work with.
