Well, if anything, he might at least break one record. Our longest home losing streak in the premier league. Currently stands at 3.

We are on 2 right now. With spurs, Liverpool, arsenal and Leicester next.

Wonder what our longest premier league losing streak is.

Really hope he turns it round and gets something from any of these games. He simply has to.

I have no confidence in the manager coming up with a coherent tactical plan and even if he did I have even less confidence in him being able to communicate it to and this bunch of losers being able to carry it out.

Bottom line we are going nowhere very quickly.

We probably won't go down ( not entirely convinced ) but I believe we will be bottom half.

Bottom half is probably about right with this squad of cowards.

Who? Be realistic.
Galtier was my choice. There were risks, definitely, but there are loads of risks with Benitez.

Potter was mooted and if the club did have a long term plan then a manager of his ilk would have been sensible. I’m still not fully sold on him btw but as for who would be a better long-term coach for Everton, it’d be him over Benitez.

Ten Haag, had we shown a bit of ambition and bravery.

again, there’s risks with any appointment because that’s just where we are. But this ‘who else?’ line needs to stop. It’s like the ‘which other striker in world football could we possibly have signed other than Rondon?’ argument

To be clear, I didn’t think and still don’t think Benitez is an awful appointment or the worst manager in the league. I just feel footy has moved on from him. He’s not a dinosaur, but he’s done nothing of note in the last 6-7 years to suggest he should have been the pick. Then you throw in the Liverpool factor which, like it or not, is a big issue for a lot of people, which compounds that

If Poch gets canned by PSG - which is somewhat likely - we have to get him

That would be ideal but hes miles ahead in ligue 1 and 2nd behind City in the champions league.

Why is it likely they would sack him?

If he became available then of course you sack benitez and bring him in...but i would imagine several other clubs would want him as well.

Footy does move on, but that is mainly managers trying to copy success. If you have good players able to implement a system you are in with a shout, on the break, front foot, it does not matter. Having the players to execute the tactics are more important

Many of our squad do not care enough.to implement anything and have to go. The manager is irrelevant until we remove that garbage.

Benitez was and is a divisive appointment but there needs to come a point where we sack a manager and somebody above him resigns at the same time.

For years we have had manager after manager who have got it completely wrong. We haven’t had a manager since Moyes that has gone on to do anything of note after leaving Everton and it took Moyes an age to find a job that fitted his particular skills.

Someone inside the club with seniority needs to either give Benitez two years (minimum) and complete authority to get rid of anyone he chooses or they need to get rid of Benitez now and find someone they will place that level of trust in.

I am sick of us being back in the same situation every 18 months and even if it is Benitez, I want some stability. What we have done in the past has clearly not worked and Benitez has inherited that disaster of a squad.
Spot on mate, been saying for ages there's just no accountability or consequence within the senior tiers of the club, safest jobs in the world

You know, when he goes, I hope your leaving thread is epic.
He will literally move on to the Kazakhstani team's forum that Benitez will be managing. Telling them that what happened at Everton, Dalian and Newcastle was nothing to do with him and that Almaty FC have signed up an absolute legend. And that Mbappe will be signing, if not in the summer then definitely in January.
