On the midfield. Gomes, Gbamin and Delph have either been injured or not fully fit, and Holgate and Godfrey have been needed in defence. There are no easy solutions at present.
Nobody said they were easy situations but they were not impossible situations, they were not all injured at the same time and Branthwaite has been in the squad as an unused sub. His job, for which he is handsomely paid, is to come up with solutions.

I read that and have to say there be some truth in waht he said. Look at the last games, did our players really try hard, for example against Watfrod.

I personally don't think so in either of the home games or the first half on Monday.

It's a recurring problem. Effort and commitment are turned on and off from week to week by this squad.

He simply can’t keep his job if we lose our next 4
What if we lose our next 4 and pick up another few injuries as he goes?

Or better question;

Why would getting beat against teams such as RS , City and spurs that we generally lose most seasons a reason to sack the current manager?

Its not like the next 4 games are the bottom 3!

They'll never learn - fast forward 6-12 months when Doucoure/DCL/Mina are oot injured and we have won 1 in 6 with Nuno/Howe/Lampard et al in the dug out it'll be the same "if he loses the next 3 he's a goner".

Rinse and repeat like Sunderland/Watford and the other banter clubs.

If we went and brought in the right manager then we wouldn't have this problem. Bad recruitment has been the issue. Our hiring of managers and allowing them to sign their own players has been catastrophic.

A manager will only be the right manager if they are willing to be ruthless and move players on or freeze them out of the first team. We still have the same players getting chances under Benitez.

If we go 1 win in 11 or 12 then obviously he should be sacked. I don't care who we have played, that would be an appalling record.

No manager should survive that sort of run of results.

Because tied in with the losses against the team we should have beaten, (and brentford is in the next 4), where do we then ever pick up points?

If, as you say we lose our next 4, this manager will have overseen our longest losing streak we have had in the premier league. How is that acceptable on any level?

Just how would a new manager be able to move them on ? the last few have tried and failed ,just look at Tosun . Then how could he freeze so many out of the first team? Who would he play ?

I see. so it's complex, but he's getting paid lots of money so should be able to work it out. Our five best players all out, at once and replaced by players who aren't even match fit, and Benitez should still be able to 'work it out' cos he's on a good wage.

Why would it be acceptable to LOSE any games, Top 4, Bottom 4 or QPR, when did it become acceptable?

I know that is not what you said, per se, but if we do lose 3 or 4 more in the next few weeks then 1 Win in 9 or 10 games is TOTALLY unacceptable and he would HAVE to GO!

This is the issue. I'm hoping we don't. But I genuinely think he needs to take six points from the next 12 on offer or he should be facing the sack because any manager should be in that situation.

People keep banging on 'we can't sack another manager'. We sacked Silva because we had 14 points at the start of December after a derby defeat. So Benitez has four games to pick up one point to be better than what Silva had when he was sacked.
Silva was allowed a transfer window though, in fact, it was in excess of 150m. Benny has been given a fiver and a bit of tin foil to wrap the change up in to give back to Moshiri. Bit of an unfair comparison tbf.

5 best players at the same time? I'm not sure about that, and yes I would have expected him to have at least tried to adapt, but, I know when it comes to Benitez, you and one or two others do not like him to be criticised, so, I don't expect you to agree.

The next manager will have the advantage of lots of contracts ending. But we have been awful at moving players on.

There are lots of senior players at the club who should have been told they were no longer required years ago. Yet lots of them are still regularly starting games. Gordon plays well and gets dropped. Iwobi plays poorly, gets injured, then gets brought back into the team. There are lots of things wrong in how we select our teams.

This. His tactics and game plan has been awful. That's on him. Injuries are rubbish, but then adapt to what you have available, change the game plan, change the formation etc. If the players aren't showing any desire or motivation, that's also his job.

ha, he's faced a barrage of unrelenting criticism since he first stepped through the door, win lose or draw. Yes that does irk, it's small minded and totally self defeating.

Fans dont realise with FFP you cant just "move a player on"

Pre FFP you take £5 million for Iwobi and cut your losses

Post FFP you take £5 million for Iwobi and post a big loss on the books which possibly prevents you spending money to actually replace said player.
