The thing is mate you and others are looking at this from the eyes of a supporter.

Usmanov and Moshiri dont give a toss if you are booing the bloke all game providing we are a Premier League side whilst BMD is built/financing is agreed with lenders etc.

Thats ultimately what people are trying to get across - just because fans will boo the bloke more than Lampard for losing 4 out of 5 games means little to them in the grand scheme of things - they wont be at Goodison to witness it.

"Goodison will be toxic"

Goodison was toxic under Alladyce yet the board never sacked him and waited until the seasons end when they had Silva lined up which was always Moshiri's long term target.

Unless the fans are going to physically assault the bloke in the dug out nothings going to see him gone unless our PL survival is in jeopardy which it realistically wont be.

Norwich/Saints/Newcastle/Watford/Burnley/Leeds 6 clubs that instantly will be below us in the table even if we lose the next 2-3 and Villa look as poor as us without the excuse of 3-4 of their best players out injured.

Once injuries are back we'll pick up - win the odd game against a top side whilst beating the likes of Palace, Brentford etc to keep us around 9th-12th.

The hysteria online atm is just OTT.
Looking at it through the eyes of a supporter. Shock, we are supporters.

People keep saying we can’t sack Benitez after only X amount of games, he only spent £1.7m etc, the problem is that we’re not talking about any manager here, we’re talking about Benitez, a manager who brings the baggage of being an ex RS manager, a manager who was hated by a lot of our supporters (I would even say the majority) even before he was linked with us, a manager who will never be accepted no matter what he does. I actually don’t think Moshiri realised how diversive Benitez’s appointment was going to be.
Agree with all of that Lou except the bit about Moshiri not realizing how divisive Benitez’ appointment would be. I’m sure people like Kenwright told him of the risks, I just don’t think it’s of any concern to Moshiri what the fans think or indeed how toxic things get at the ground. The only thing Moshiri cares about now is balancing the books whilst staying in the prem until Bramley-Moore is built. Benitez is Moshiri’s scapegoat.

I agree Moshiri probably doesn’t give a toss what our fans think but, if our abysmal form continues in the run of games coming up I think it will be that toxic at Goodison that he would have to sit up and take notice. The Watford reaction was bad and not from just a few ‘Geordies’ it was from all area’s of the ground, well from those fans who were still left in the ground after fans left in droves before the final whistle. Benitez has to turn it around ASAP because there is only so long Moshiri can bury his head in the sand.

I can’t stand sherwood but failed managers and former RS players are basically the only pundits out there .

Out of interest sherwoods win rate at spurs was 59%
Our manager is at 41% and was at 42% at Newcastle , I’m guessing you don’t listen to what he says either ?
Based on win rates, he’s the oracle
He managed Tottenham for a mighty 28 games ???

He couldn’t have picked a better scapegoat as well mate.

Out of interest, would you sack Benitez and bring Sherwood in?
I am arguing against sacking Benitez and people are coming back with - 'Sherwood said'.........come on

If you read the first line I said I can’t stand sherwood .

I made a lighthearted point based on your argument about not listening to failed managers . Hopefully when he leaves our club the current manager will have the best win rate of any incumbent. Sadly I suspect it’ll be worse than it currently is , the bonus is you won’t have to listen to a word he ever spouts again .

Because we will be on a horrific amount of points after 15-20 matches played.

Because he will likely be on a run of 1 win in 10. That would not be good enough to keep him employed.

How so? In another 10 games we could be back to fully fit 11 and so far the difference between a few players missing has been literally win or loss.

Get lewen and doucoure back and those losses you think now would be wins.

Swings and roundabouts as they say .

The other side is, even when we had our full strength team, we have only controlled 1 and a half games and could have quite easily lost the games against Burnley, Leeds saints, other than for the 10/15min spells we had when we started playing.

How do lewin and Doucoure fix those defensive issues? Mina isn't going to do it on hiw own.

Putting this crap run solely down to a few injuries is awfully reductionist.

That 1 in 7 run is going to get longer with these fixtures and he won't survive it.

No, definitely not but Punditry is vastly different from managing

It's funny how if Mina had played then West Ham (I'm sure he was on the bench) and Watford wouldn't have beaten us. If only he had played when Villa beat us 3-0. oh, hang on...

Historically we are a streaky team. Win a few then lose a few. That's exacerbated when we have injuries. Out of the games we've played so far the only surprises were getting a point at Old Trafford and losing to Watford. We are about where we should be, but that means we're likely to lose the next 3 matches.
We shouldn't ever accept losing to Brentford is an inevitability. Never. This is what Moshiri and Benitez have done to this club.
