Tore Andre Flo and Claus Eftevaag with Barry Horne returning as a player coach. Johnson panicked and they miscommunicated their own intentions leading the Manager and Chairman talking themselves into a mutual consent. If Cliff Finch hadn't have been an holiday he may never have left, so the story goes.
this Is what I wanted to type but I’m not as clever hahaha. Spot on btw

Ours has the mess Carlo left behind
Are you arguing that the kopite ball of flesh is a better manager than Carlo? If so, thats a crazy statement. I wasnt happy with Carlos football, but he kept us in the mix at the positive end of the table until the end of the season, where the same players whos broken under pressure for years did it again. Benny started falling down after a month and a half.

This irrational love some in here have for Benny is highly suspect at best.

He is a better fit, he fits who we are, he also clearly has more passion and belief in the club, like he has finally after all these years found his home.

As is dismissing him in no time at all.

That and noobdy else wanting the job, although im sure the leading candidates Rooney, Dunc or Rhino would of taken it if offered
I'm sure Howe or Dyche would of taken it at least . Howe has got an exciting job with pundits agreeing that it's a good appointment and Dyche would of at least worked on set pieces or made sure we didn't set up a midfield to be as useful as cardboard cutouts against poor teams .
While I wouldn't of been excited with either appointment I would of preferred them then , now and I'm pretty sure come end of the season .

Problem with Dyche is its going after another clubs manager, we had that with Silva and its not as straight forward as we think, and would costs us more then we can actually afford. Howe i dont know about, but either way he wont be leaving Newcastle's money for our lack of it

Could you explain how he is a better fit? Our best managers; Catterick, Royle and Kendall were all attacking, ex Everton players, he is neither. His best football is usually defensive and pragmatic, our best football in the past has been high intensity attacking football.
