They won't though.

That's all that matters. Moshiri should have known this.

Becrying double standards and trying to reason with peoples deep seated feelings over his past, whilst admirable are also an utter waste of time.

Not so speak for @Kev The Rat here but I would assume he was "happy" for Silva to finish 8th whilst not be happy for Benitez to be 2 points of 8th (what even is this?) will be because he thinks Benitez is a horrible RS blert above anything else. And that is a perfectly understandable reason for me.

Disagree there - Moshiri isn't an Evertonian he's an Iranian businessmen.

How was he meant to know we have a contingent of bitter fans who would react that badly.

Ultimately if Benitez was the best candidate for the job regardless of his LFC past he had to have appointed him end of the day.

The facht some fans put their own prejudice's over the well being of the club is solely on their consciences.

The owner has put himself in a position where he’ll have no choice but to sack the manager mid-season AGAIN, for the third time under him, and cost the club another £10m making our precarious financial position even worse. Honestly why he’s not being hunted down with pitchforks and torches at this point I’ll never know.

He shouldn't have been hired in the first place, that's the thing. He's a dinosaur, football has evolved since he had success.

His dalliance at Dalian shows just how far he's fallen - Stick a fork in him, he finished... And in typical Everton style, we are lumbered with him.

Well it is. There's the pretence this criticism is all performance related and based on logic. It isn't - it's a bunch of children throwing their toys out the pram irrationally.
No it's really not.

You are acting like he has been tricked into saying the real reason he doesn't want Benitez at the club is because he is a RS.

Everyone has known that from the beginning! And it's a perfectly valid reason and not irrational at all.

The poor form and crap recent history career wise just solidify those opinions.

Again it was always going to happen.

You really don’t think someone could’ve surveyed fan opinion for him? Could he not have listened to the opinions of his colleagues on the board, none of whom wanted Benitez or thought it was a good idea? You can’t defend your man here, this situation is 100% on him.

He’s a manager whose best days are behind him who also happens to be a Liverpool legend. Who on earth thought this was the right appointment for Everton? Answer - clueless Penfold blert who has no idea what he’s doing but does it anyway. But hey it’s his money and train set lads, he can do what he wants, not like it’s gonna have repercussions for us helpless fans down the line who also invest our hard earned money into the club.

Even if he did know mate - if the option was Benitez or Nuno or Benitez or Mark Hughes then Moshiri has to go with the best man for the job regardless of any baggage that he brings.

Thats business its not a popularity contest like X Factor or Britain's Got Talent and our fans need to accept that.

Sadly some believe we were genuinely knocking back world class managers just to appoint someone to trigger the fans...

Of course he should know. Don't be ridiculous. He has not been living in a cave in Tehran.

I knew before he was appointed that it would happen, probably at this very point too. So did countless others.

That reason and that reason alone made him not the best candidate.

And there is that last line again which seems to be the big issue. "People shouldn't think like that" Well guess what? They do! You cant make massive decisions like that whilst totally ignoring a key point. It's dangerous practice.

Most have in fairness - take on here for example there are hundreds if not thousands of members yet its only a handful of prominent voices moaning in this thread 24/7.

The silent majority largely accept the problems go beyond the manager and are willing to give him time to sort this club and squad oot as best he can.

What happens inside Goodison Park on a match day is what matters, and that has been very hostile, the ground was half empty by the end of the Watford game and I imagine if we get a pasting of the RS then it's going to be a war zone and Benitez will be the focal point.

But ultimately what does that achieve mate?

Moshiri is in Monaco
Usmanov is in the Baltic

Let little Kev shout some nasty tings at the players/manager that wont do anything.

Utd fans invaded OT and got a massive game with Liverpool called off to make the Glazers sell up.

Glazers are still there.

This is nonsense.

The baggage is important, and of course its a popularity contest!

If a manager is unpopular his position becomes untenable sooner or later. The baggage is important because as soon as you hit a bump in the road that baggage spills everywhere.

It's basic human nature, it's also basic business.

Not one person has said he was appoint to "trigger" fans. Moshiri obviously didn't care what the fans think. At least he is out in the open with that I suppose.

(Mark Hughes would be in the same boat by the way, loads hate him already so he would be doomed. Nuno would be judged on how he performed as nobody has really strong opinions on him.)

Personally, the fact he's a kopite isn't the main reason of my dislike of the man (although i'm not going to lie, it's a factor, as are the derogatory remarks about us), the fact is he's washed up, past it. He's a name people remember as being a manager - we way as well have gotten Alan Pardew in, he'd have probably ended up with the same results.

I'm yet to see a 90 minutes of football from HIS Everton team that will change my mind, i've seen glimpses and the odd 20 minutes, usually 2nd half once he's had chance to change something, which is a worry in itself. A tactically astute manager survey's the opposition, sets up his team, his gameplan and tactics and forces the other manager into a change to get a hold of the game - thing is, it's Benitez that ALWAYS has to change.
