As much as I don't want us to keep changing managers as this has simply not worked over last 6 years but if he plays Rondon on Sunday I am not defending him, any grassroots coach can see he is totally out of his depth
Kendall knew it with Glen Keely
Moyes Knew it with Klodrup
So Benitez should hold his hands up and say I have messed up on this one

Double quotes are used to mark speech, for titles of short works like TV shows and articles, as scare quotes to indicate irony or an author's disagreement with a premise.
It's a common courtesy to actually include the name of the person who's words are being quoted in an article , in this case your post .
If someone saw the post that you applied double quotation marks , I don't think it would make much sense . It's not fair on the reader to go back and try and find the originator of the said quote .
I learnt this the hard way when I compiled a report at work.

Or perhaps some people are looking at a manager clearly failing to organise a defence or send a team out who have any spirit and who's tactics were dire before he had injuries to contend with. I think, secretly, you know how unwise an appointment this has been, but, being the contrary an you are, you are entrenched in your position. I don't think Benitez will be sacked unless we are in serious relegation trouble, but, he should not have been appointed because
A/ he is a negative kick and rush merchant whose best fays are behind him and
B/ because he will never be given any leeway here. Whether you agree with them or not, lots of blues can never forget the redskin connection .

He is here now as a testament to our owner's focus on getting to Bramley-Moore whilst staying up and spending as little as possible.
That's the truth of the matter. But they speak for themselves. Not me. And not many others.

They are spoilers, nothing else.

It's not a direct quote though and wasn't ever attributed to anyone. As the definition explains: ....quotes to indicate irony or an author's disagreement with a premise.

I disagree with the premise - fostered by the words of those denigrating people who want the manager to remain and get his chance - that what they advocate is best for Everton and they are guardians of what that is.

At some point, the club have to show patience with somebody. The club

Continuously sacking managers is just creating a disjointed squad not aligned with any one philosophy, a feeling of disharmony and (I would imagine) a level of doubt in the mind of any top prospective manager who may consider joining us.

The fans are impatient because of the collective suffering brought about by years of board inaction and poor decision making. Any new manager will feel that pressure. Benitez more so because of who he is. But we won't get better qualified managers than Ancelotti and Benitez. They aren't the problem.
Agree on showing patience with 'somebody' and having stability and a clear philosophy/plan etc etc, but there's nothing to say Rafael is that 'somebody'. He's either the guy who might start to do all that once the players are fit and the tough games are out the way, or he'll be the guy who has us staring down the barrell before the transfer window even opens. As for better qualified, how are we judging that? An impressive CV sure, but anything of note in the modern era? Anything to say the game hasn't passed him by or that he's a better manager since Newcastle and China than mid 2000s? Not many people have a better CV than Mourinho but it's as clear as day he's not cut out for the Prem anymore. If Brighton and Palace were only hiring people based on past achievements Potter and Vieira wouldn't have got a look in, yet both those clubs feel like they have progressive managers and bright futures. I doubt we do.

No Dave, the bit you have put in bold is only a small part of the truth of the matter. I don't like his past associations either, but, the main reason I don't want him here is that he is long past his sell by date and has a history of turning on the clubs he manages at the drop of a hat, to protect the Benitez brand.

You have seen the dross he is serving up, the injuries don't cut it. Our team spirit is almost none existent, our previously solid defence is a disorganised mess and he is already blaming other people at the club for his shortcomings.

I make no apology for not wanting a Liverpool legend as a manager, but, if I thought he was the man for the job I'd support him.

He isn't, I don't.

The root cause of this isn’t benetiz. It’s the idiots running the board.

Brands in particular has no strategy whatsoever despite this being his core role.

Quite easy, aim for 2 good players for every position and have some semblance of a youth system - which we don’t.

The club is riddled with ex players…including unsworth producing nothing.

Shambles

Then you shouldn't of put it in quotes or at least claim it was spoken by a group of people .
You just put two words in two separate brackets of quotes .
It makes no sense taken in the context of a written word conversation over multiple pages and/or sentences .
Using it as a tool for irony doesn't work either unless the speaker or recipient is directly named in a single piece of complete prose .
If you picture it as a audio conversation when you name people or a group and then 5 minutes later quote them , it would confuse unless the original contributers to the quotations where again mentioned .
That's what I hated about learning Humanities , the god damn way people use Irony as some sort of tool of convenience .
As someone once said years ago " sorry for the off-topicness "

It's a season of two halfs: pre and post injuries. The first 6 weeks or so we saw a manager getting his system across and we got results. The second 6 weeks we've seen a disjointed and at times pathetic series of performances.

WE all know what's happened here: it doesn't take much for these players to use any excuse to knock off and not put it in. There's that, and there's the undeniable massive loss of key players for extended periods.

This manager has shown he can get results. He will so again.

The issue though Dave, we are always going to have injuries arent we?

You're overthinking this slightly.

My intention was clear enough.
