Barring any catastrophe's he gets a free hit this season by the board, but because of who he is then I'm not sure the fans will see it that way if it goes tits up.

yes, if we have a season like last, there's no way that RB gets the same kid gloves carlo got. its not the place in the table, it's the manner of how we perform, And Everton fell off a cliff last season. And yes, Benitez won't be given much leeway if that happens again. Having said that, I think we are highly unlikely to stink the place out this season the way we did last. We could still finish 8/9th without having played too badly. What I'm trying to say, is that the points total under Carlo didn't look too bad, but we all know we were rotten in the last six months. We could have a much better season this, and finish with a similar points total (59 points)

Losing Voldemort of the Fjords has been addition by subtraction. One, he doesn’t fit in RB’s formation. Two, he doesn’t play like the guys who are now driving the attack, Gray, Townsend Doucoure etc. This “get the ball forward ASAP” thing is alien to him, he’s more of a “ping the ball sideways and hope to thread a perfect pass once in awhile” guy. Three, everyone is now tasked with being a two-way player and they’re at it with gusto, I’m still buzzing from the way we swarmed Brighton’s attackers every time they touched the ball. Someone who just points at the attacker while jogging complacently nearby is not needed in that scheme.

If James can’t be shoehorned into RB’s plan, the pale imitation thereof surely has no place.

Better off without him.

No mate I'm not saying he has to outperform anyone really, im saying he cant be using his lack of budget to complain when he knew what he was signing up to.
I actually dont think he will but some on here will use that as their defence for Benitez.

For some people if we finish in Europe it will be 'what a manager' but the same people will say if we finish 16th 'Look at the budget he had' so in some peoples eyes he cant lose.

Yeah I think every single Evertonian except that weird Ricky lad wanted Sigurdsson binned off ASAP (though hoped we could sell him rather than the current situation!!) so to use not having him available to Benitez as a hardship is a bit of a stretch.

Benitez has done well so far with what he’s got though and we/him (agenda dependant) look to have made some smart squad boosting cheap signings.

Agreed. If anything he has a better squad than last season so like every manager that's been here he will be judged on league position.
We've lost Siggurdson but I'm not sure he would be anywhere near the team and he chooses not to play James so we are no worse off regardless of how much we have spent.

The points don't mean anything. Your position in the league table tells you how you performed against your fellow competitors. Higher than 10th is an improvement. Lower is worse.

I do not like his face and the weasel words that come out of his face.
I do not like that he told our best player to sod off before a ball had been stuck
I do not like the facht! we have chosen to start season with no cover at Left or Right back (made worse by Shameless Goalman's immediate injury)
I do not like that he has turned some levelheaded Evertonians in to screaming rabid Kopites, but I suppose that is what you get when you hire a kopite.
I do not like his sneer.

Unlike you, my love for Everton far outweighs my hatred for kopites. Nobody has turned into a 'screaming rabid kopite' for getting behind the manager of our club.
