we were crap in the first half, helped by how crap Arsenal were

It was a poor half, both teams. I said at HT, I don't think we deserved to be behind, and were unlucky with the offside goal but nothing was created.

I want the manager sacked because we'd gone a quarter of a league season with one win pal. And I know, because I watch a lot of footy, that he has not been setting us up right. It is simple, simple stuff that he's been getting wrong. I am of the firm belief he is the wrong choice based on his last five years as a manager, and I worry about the direction of the club given he has full power.

However, when he does good things, I credit him. And in that second half he did, he changed the shape. So next game, let's go with this shape?

As for Digne, his stupidity with that, his need to show authority, has cost us Mina tonight, and he'll probably miss Christmas. That's on Benitez. And for as good as we were in the second half, we should have conceded two and were very very fortunate, but you need luck and we got it tonight with those misses, having had bad luck with Richy's second disallowed goal.

Well I mean you clearly don't, because you say you want him sacked. Makes your credit pretty worthless don't you think?

Also, blaming him for Yerry Mina being made of glass is just mental.

(A) ...did well to get our intensity up and his decision to finally go 3 in midfield paid off

(B) ...was very lucky Arsenal didn't score again and was absolutely bailed out by a worldy

Honestly its a bit of a mix of both and that's football at times. I feel the team really tried and had really good spells were we looked good but there were moments where we probably got a tad lucky too. Think the players definitely deserve credit at the very least. Benitez needs to go 433 next game before I give him real credit but his switch up tonight probably won us the game. It should have been 3-1 that last offside was disgusting

Those attacking options have been in place for the last 6 weeks bar Doucoure and Gomes.

Gomes isn't so amazing that he changed the game because of his quality. He changed the game because it changed the shape. We've had three midfielders to pick from every week for the last two months.

had Iwobi buried that chance at the end it would have been the same scoreline too
