I went in hard on Steve Walsh, but with what’s gone on now I’m questioning what actual responsibilities he was given.

It’s almost like Moshiri has seen all these top European clubs operate with a DoF but has no idea what they’re supposed to do

Yeah it's strange, The Athletic has gone from this interesting non tabloid website that provided good content into some rumour mill that people treat as gospel.

Drama sells I suppose.

We don't know if they are rumours - if you want to be pedantic about the specific usage of the word.

We do know that a highly rated scout like Steve Walsh ended up being sacked, the same has now happened to Brands.

Its possible both could be idiots, but what are the realistic chances of 2 well respected professionals being totally incompetent, consecutively, as soon as they join us, without being hindered massively?

We have additional multiple sources saying Brands couldn't do his job due to interference by managers.

It doesn't look great for Moshiri who appears to be backing managers against his DoF regardless, and then having to fire both DoFs and said managers.

It does, normally there is no smoke without fire of course but who knows?

The overarching problem, the issue all along is that we should not be in this position where we have so much divisiveness after having a manager in charge for only a couple of months.

Which brings us right back to Moshiri.

I have no strong thoughts on DBB to be honest. Everyone seems to be an expert on what her job is though.
