I don’t think anyones delighted here. I think we are seeing that we are in a pretty crap position due to 6 years of complete mismanagement that has seen us with no funds and no team. No one has given us a suitable replacement that could do better here.
Benetez won’t be here in two years. But we probably need him for the next 18months to tread water, clear out the dross and get us back on track financially.

Im not sure that a clear out by Benitez will help. The club is so badly run on so many levels, he can’t deal with everything (if indeed he’s dealing with anything).
£500m wasted. what a disgrace.

This is crazy. If you don’t think he’ll be here in two years time then letting him clear out the squad and fill it with his own players is just going to leave us in the same position. A new manager will come in, probably (please God) want to play a different style of football and then be stuck with someone else’s players, bought to play a different way.

Why let someone clear out the squad and fill it with his players if he’ll only be here short term? The rebuild had to have a longer term strategy behind it at board level. A lack of leadership and strategy from Moshiri again.

The very few good players we have will be the ones who will want out if we keep Benitez. Hes already fallen out with Digne and Richarlison because he enjoys confrontation.

He won't get rid of the poor players we all don't rate. It will be our handful of decent players who go. Lose our two centre forwards and this is a possible relegation side. And why would they want to stay at thos shambolic club?

So now we’re finally in agreement that this is a side which fi you take out one or two players is relegation standard? So why are people so shocked that we are in the bottom half of the table if those good players have been missing a lot of the season?

How has he taken out Richarlison? He brought him off when he was injured which he was. Before that he’s played him all the time.

So now we’re finally in agreement that this is a side which fi you take out one or two players is relegation standard? So why are people so shocked that we are in the bottom half of the table if those good players have been missing a lot of the season?

How has he taken out Richarlison? He brought him off when he was injured which he was. Before that he’s played him all the time.

Richarlison has likely been punished for refusing to bow to him like Digne

He mentioned 2 good players - there are clearly others and you know who they are.

I've already said that he's two games away from being completely untenable

I do have some slight sympathy given we'll be missing DCL, Richarlison, Townsend, Mina and Coleman but there have been enough games like Watford, Palace and Brentford where we could have picked up some points regardless

The injuries have probably removed any flicker of hope he had left of turning it around in time to save himself

Won't be shedding any tears, but I do worry about exactly what is going to happen in January with nobody at the club capable of making decisions to sign players

At least let Benitez get rid of some of the players first. The only benefit of having an unpopular manager is he can make a clean sweep of the place unemcumbered by trying to keep anyone on side. He’s already taken Brands out who people had wanted gone for ages.

Why would anyone want a new manager coming into this squad. Turning up to the changing rooms and seeing Coleman Keane and Davies ‘ready to work hard for the new manager’. At least let Benitez flush the turds our first. It’s probably the only benefit of him being here yet some want him out before he can even get on with the job.

Benitez to wipe the slate clean, then a new manager to come in when he actually has a chance of succeeding. As long as the players are here, the performance level won’t change much regardless of who the manager is. So we could make a short term change, spend a lot of money doing so, and start a rebuilding cycle all over again with another manager who we’ll all hate within 12 months when he loses loads of games (which he will with these players), or we can continue to go through the pain with a manager everyone already hates, let him get some of these clowns out of the club, then give a new manager a decent chance to actually succeed.

According to Benitez’s PA on here they tried to shift Delph during the summer - he wouldn’t go! Tosun is hanging round like a bad smell because no one else in world football will pay him what good old Everton do - he won’t go until his contract his up!
Benitez seems to have adopted a tactic of alienating some of them, is this an attempt to get them to put in transfer requests - we will probably never know, but whatever he is doing at the moment it ain’t working!

He has a history of fall outs with players, well with everyone really, so it’s no surprise. I think a lot of us would have had no problem if he was falling out with the likes of Tosun and Delph. The fact he seems to be rowing with most of our better players is what really grinds peoples gears lol

We have 5 or 6 good players in my opinion. The two I mentioned up front are the obvious ones.

Then I'd add Doucoure, Digne, Gray, maybe Pickford. Mina is another but I think I agree he needs to be sold due to his injury and contract situation.

If we continue to perform so poorly then it won't be all the others who leave though. It will be those few I've named who will demand to leave. Bad teams don't lose their bad players. They lose their good ones. There will be no overhaul if we are in 14-17th place.

And yes the squad without our two good forwards could be close to relegation if not replaced properly. But that would apply to another half a dozen sides as well. We will lose both unless the club changes direction and fast.
