At least let Benitez get rid of some of the players first. The only benefit of having an unpopular manager is he can make a clean sweep of the place unemcumbered by trying to keep anyone on side. He’s already taken Brands out who people had wanted gone for ages.

Why would anyone want a new manager coming into this squad. Turning up to the changing rooms and seeing Coleman Keane and Davies ‘ready to work hard for the new manager’. At least let Benitez flush the turds our first. It’s probably the only benefit of him being here yet some want him out before he can even get on with the job.

Benitez to wipe the slate clean, then a new manager to come in when he actually has a chance of succeeding. As long as the players are here, the performance level won’t change much regardless of who the manager is. So we could make a short term change, spend a lot of money doing so, and start a rebuilding cycle all over again with another manager who we’ll all hate within 12 months when he loses loads of games (which he will with these players), or we can continue to go through the pain with a manager everyone already hates, let him get some of these clowns out of the club, then give a new manager a decent chance to actually succeed.
There are so many truths in this post...

Why on earth Evertonians want another manager to come in and have the same problems dealing with the same players is quite baffling, don’t these people see what’s happening here, the constant changing of managers should give you a clue.. the players and running of the club are rotten to the core.
There were so many fans on here speaking at the start of the season about the only good thing about Benitez being appointed was you knew he would weed out all the bad apples, you all knew things were going to get a whole lot worse before they got better because of years and years of neglect and not addressing the problems...

This Club has drifted for thirty years.. there is no quick fix here and unpopular decisions amongst players.. in the boardroom and on the terraces simply have to be made if the Club is to move forward.

The manager in place now might be unpopular with most but you all know he will not hesitate to make those unpopular decisions and that’s what’s needed, he has been brought in to start the very very slow building process, he has been severely hampered by injuries to his better players, he has won the Brands battle, he is in the middle of sorting the medical staff situation out and hopefully he will get some decent funds in a few weeks time along with some kinder fixtures.

I tell you what... if fans force out this manager you can just chalk it down to another victory to player power and fans who don’t like change and this drifting vicious circle will just extend to the next manager whoever that will be.. is this really what fans want, let’s just see wha the lay of the land is at the end of the season and stop this talk about relagation.. it will never be in the equation as there are far worse teams.

We have 5 or 6 good players in my opinion. The two I mentioned up front are the obvious ones.

Then I'd add Doucoure, Digne, Gray, maybe Pickford. Mina is another but I think I agree he needs to be sold due to his injury and contract situation.

If we continue to perform so poorly then it won't be all the others who leave though. It will be those few I've named who will demand to leave. Bad teams don't lose their bad players. They lose their good ones. There will be no overhaul if we are in 14-17th place.

And yes the squad without our two good forwards could be close to relegation if not replaced properly. But that would apply to another half a dozen sides as well. We will lose both unless the club changes direction and fast.

So earlier in the season then when we had DCL Richarlison Docuoure Mina out injured why was anyone surprised at the results of there’s an acceptance that there’s not many other good players? Gray missed a few as well in that period and so did Godfrey.

It seems to both ways for his critics. When he has injuries it’s ‘the squad is fine, he should get more out of them’. When he marginalises a player it’s ‘we’ve only got a few good players and he’ll get them out and then the squad is relegation standard’.

It’s either a terrible squad littered with a few good players or it’s not, which is it?

The people defending Benitez need to realise that we KNOW the team is crap, we KNOW the recruitment has been awful and we KNOW we have had injuries. But there are 2 basic things that are unacceptable with this manager.

1. Set pieces. Conceding almost every week when the same personnel dealt with them far better last year. We must be the only team in the league not to score from one either.

2. Style of play. Palace had 68% possession in the first half. Crystal Palace! We sit off and are so negative.
When we’ve inevitably conceded and have to chase a game and play on the front foot, we are far better. This has happened time and time again - Southampton, Burnley, Wolves, Palace, Brentford, Arsenal etc etc but the manager still sends us out on the back foot. He won’t change because every time he manages anywhere, it’s all about his ego. Always will be.

He's taking the best players out though. The garbage will still be there bunkered in under Team Benny

Didn't Gray miss just one game where he was still on the bench.

It's a bang average midtable PL squad, absolutely not a championship squad though, since it hasn't been anywhere near relegation in previous seasons. We have a couple of good forwards, a few decent players, a lot of average ones and a few really bad ones. But to be close to relegation places at Christmas would be huge underacheivement. This is a midtable squad. 8th at best, 12th at worst.

I go back to the point, only good players leave bad teams, not the bad players. Benitez seems to want to fall out with the better ones too. I don't trust him at all in the market.

The squad is unbalanced and has some poor quality to compete and be a top table side.

However...it's not poor enough to be a competent side. That's down to the manager.

The point your missing with all this is that the tactical genius, with all these injuries, did nothing to try and adapt his tactics to identify the weaknesses.

Still played 4-2-3-1, putting square pegs in round holes. Didn’t try anything differently, he’s stubborn in his approach

Most fans know relegation isn’t happening now. If we fire the manager then messrs Coleman Keane Holgate Davies Iwobi etc. are absolutely laughing, completely unable to believe their luck that they’ve survived not only Ancelotti but also Benitez. They’ll all survive the January window and then will play up for an extension in the summer. We’ll have limited funds because of FFP and the new manager will have Bill in his ear going on about how Coleman and Davies are part of the furniture. Then before January next season we’ll be firing another manager and those players will still be here. It can’t carry on.

Benitez didn't sign a new RB
Benitez plays Keane every week
Benitez has brought Holgate back into the squad and had tried him as some sort of midfield impact sub
Davies didn't really get a chance but has been injured and isn't involved.
Iwobi was given plenty of chances by Benitez.

Our manager has us in free fall now. More injuries, therefore more excuses. At some point he has to start winning games and stop whining about the backroom staff, the fans and, yes, the injuries. We were dominated by Palace. Crystal sodding Palace, it's shameful.
We were dominated by Palace because the majority of the players we have are basically incapable of putting a shift in, ffs they can’t even pass the ball between one another. seriously there isn’t a manager on this planet going to get a tune out of this lot, they are an utter embarrassment to every Everton supporter.

But they aren't the players talking about being sold or being ostracised from the squad. I'd understand your point more if he was targeting targeting dross but he isn't.

The issue is, you are saying you want benitez to get rid of the dross and stabilise us. But he looks to be getting rid of our decent players, playing all the dross regardless of how they perform as well as adding new dross in bar gray. In 2 years time, we will have a worse squad than we do now.

I wonder if perhaps, like me, people would prefer a new manager to come in to this squad of players in the premier league, rather than to a squad, Shorne of it's better players in the championship

Imagine a scenario where Benitez sells DCL, Richarlison and Digne and replaces them with ageing players on high wages and then takes us down. These are real possibilities.

I for one would like us to make our move now, get a caretaker in, any competent coach will keep this team up this season , and spend the next 6 months getting a progressive team in place to go forward.

youve been here 5 minutes mate, and post after post is full of TLDR BS about why the waiter needs to say in situ

Just saying...

Of the many annoying habits people have picked up on the internet, one of the worst is making statements like your first one here, the outright and obvious lie made with full confidence.

Most fans do not know relegation isn’t going to happen now; that’s obvious from the reaction of the crowd as well as online - indeed it’s impossible to say that with confidence anyway, we are on the cusp of half way through the season and we are only on 18 points. By Thursday night we might have 4 points from ten games (a full quarter of the season).

Even if we did as “well” as we did in the first half of the season, that’s still 36 points. It’s relegation in most seasons.

This is of course what does my head in most about you and your ilk; not so much your slavish devotion to Benitez but how easily you lot tell absolute whoppers about things we can all see for ourselves.
