Ancelotti leaving doesn't have much to do with the situation.

He was another ill suited manager appointed by our idiot owner. But at least he was likable (and had an incredible record before us) that's why he got a much easier ride.
See you have a £70m valuation on here suggesting you’re a dedicated fan - talking about one of the best managers in the world as ‘ill suited’ and a man who’s put £500m into the club as an ‘idiot’

Surely EFC deserves better support than this

The real shame is not giving a manager a fair chance and judging him while his hands are tied behind his back, people never did this with previous managers why are they doing it now.. be fair about it and give him the same chance as in funds and time as the others.
Does this hand tying prevent him from changing tactics and not making absolute rollovers to teams like Palace and Brentford

Asking for a friend

There are plenty of managers out there. The question is would Moshiri get it right?

There is a pretty major question here, one that doesn't get asked enough to his backers.

You do know he is going to fail regardless of how long he is in the job right?
Moshiri seems quite a strange guy (and an accountant, not a strategist) but at the same time he’s put £500m into the club which surely we should have some gratitude for - unless any of us will step forward and do the same

It’s a tough competition and hard to crack the top 6 although we have been in and around that. The managers he’s brought in are just outside the very best really

Brands was perhaps out of his depth coming from the Dutch league

At least Raf’a has managed the top teams and won trophies etc - hence deserving a bit of time in my view

On here with a £70m valuation suggests being a dedicated fan of the club

There aren’t many good managers out there - we’ve had some of the best we could have attracted and they all eventually come up short in the eyes of the fans

So are they the problem or is there a deeper problem with the whole setup that long-standing fans like yourself should be questioning?

Benitez should be at his peak at 61. Would he do better if supported (boosting his confidence, giving time to implement plans etc) or if not (generally increasing his stress levels and impacting his confidence which would likely transmit to the players and impact results - I’d understood the fans want good results but would have played quite a big part in that scenario in bringing about bad ones?)?

If not Benitez, who would we get? Wayne Rooney is being mentioned in the press. I don’t think just moving from person to person will improve things
So since our worst run of results in several decades won’t do it, let me ask you this - at what point WOULD you decide that enough is enough?

Perhaps him taking us into the Championship like he did with Newcastle would open your eyes?

The man has done nothing in years. It is clear from his career trajectory that, far from being “at his peak” he in fact peaked more than a decade ago.

Your entire premise that he would be “at his peak” at 61 is bizarre in and of itself to be honest, and isn’t borne out by “facts” as he would say.

He was right about Ancelotti being ill suited. He’s a manager who has done his best work at clubs with lots of money to spend and the resources to win the top prizes. He didn’t do well with our limited budget and jumped ship at the first chance to work with a club he is more suited to.

There are pages and pages in this thread which compare various previous Everton managers achievements or failure in comparison to Benitez. Difficult to do in my opinion as there are so many variables. Then there are the injuries, £1.7m etc. etc. used to defend or slate Benitez. I am disregarding all that as just noise as there is just one stand out issue that nobody with any honesty can ignore. Benitez is, certainly at this stage of his career, completely clueless and is a danger to the very survival of Everton in the Premier League. Must be gone in the near very future

If Benitez does leave the call will be for Rooney or Duncan mark my words.. these two will never ever revolutionise the club which is exactly the course of action that Everton Football Club needs in 2021.. this club has drifted far to long to the point it simply exists to make up the numbers.. it will never win a trophy and it will never be relagated on its current path.. are people really happy with this..surely now is the time to upset the apple cart and try something drastic that will shake up the foundations of the club, you can count on one hand the amount of times Evertonians have been genuinely excited in the last 10 years.

Do you think you would do a better job as manager or Chair? Would you inject £500m into the club?

Just my view but I’d stay with him through the next few matches (likely some more losses) and back him to improve things in the new year when we have a run of easier fixtures - plus the opportunity to make some signings in Jan (plus hopefully more significant ones next summer)

Despite recent form I believe we’ll avoid the drop, given the squad we have, will of all involved with the club, points already accumulated and quality of clubs below us
