He’ll fail if enough of the fans want him to because of his Liverpool connections, yes

But, with support and funding it’s not unreasonable to think he could have us back in the top 8 for starters

It depends what you’re calling success really

I get the sense some here would still find things to moan about if he delivered the premier league title
Don't be ridiculous.

See you have a £70m valuation on here suggesting you’re a dedicated fan - talking about one of the best managers in the world as ‘ill suited’ and a man who’s put £500m into the club as an ‘idiot’

Surely EFC deserves better support than this
You don't think that certain managers profiles suit certain clubs at certain times?

Ok then...

As for your last sentence, we could to with utter narcissists like you deciding who is a boss fan and who is not.

Seriously who are you to judge?

What’s your yardstick for believing this could happen?
What’s he done to make you think this is remotely possible?
His last 2 jobs have been in China and Newcastle.

Yes but to just dismiss the man who’s bankrolled the whole operation to the extent he has as an ‘idiot’ - that’s pretty extreme

Some general positivity would go a long way. There seems to be very little empathy for the people in there doing it

Perhaps the supporters club can find ways to bring the club and fans closer together so fans can get more of an appreciation of the work we do on the inside
How else would you describe somebody who's spent £500m making a football club worse, to the point where it's arguably on course to be relegated for the first time in 50-odd years?

I hope for his sake that he's just laundering money for Usmanov.

And yet there are people who (I assume) are actually Everton fans like @Saint Domingo and @Tubey who insist the only reason we want him out is his Liverpool connection. Forget the wums and obvious kopites it’s people like that who are the proper dangers so determined to be seen as edgy and open minded that they’d genuinely rather Everton got relegated than admit they were wrong and we just made a terrible appointment.

Your first sentence is enough! You do not need the rest.

That very first sentence is factual, it always was going to be which makes everything else null and void.

He will not receive that support, he will not get that funding. I would love to tell you he would get it but he wont.

Worst part here is you seem to think I am anti Benitez? Well I am not. Not the man himself. I was against the appointment totally because of what you have said in your first line.

I am a realist that's all. Some of you need to stop living in a daydream. This does not get better.

Lets be honest here, its part of it, of course it is.

If he wins all the time we forget he is ex RS. But he was never going to win all the time and he was doomed as soon as he hit a poor run of form.

And then you compound that with a quite frankly hideous set of results this season combined with ropy recent results elsewhere and the fact that he is not very likable regardless then he was always destined to fail.

What on earth was Moshiri (or Usmanov or whoever) thinking?
