I like the DOF system, just not with Brands and not with oue owner who likes to interfere.

I would always go for the continuity of the DOF system, but, for it to work the club must buy into it and give him control over football matters.

I'm not even 100% convinced Brands was the issue.

Just like to point out there are valid reasons why we have struggled this season. I’m not a massive fan of the manager but you’ve got to look at bigger picture.
Just watching the scum at spurs and they have one player missing and they are all over the place at the back
Chelsea have a couple forwards missing and are toothless. Look at their squad strength FFS.
Leeds are suffering with a similar injury crisis as ourselves and they look worse than us.
It’s a valid reason why we have struggled end of.

I didn’t go around saying that Watford were a brilliant team just because they beat us.

That’s the difference.

Watford were a poor team, we played worse than they did, they beat us.

Arsenal are a decent team. We played better than them and won.

Yet because some people hate our manager they’re happy to fully accept our failings for the loss and yet write the win down as some sort of lucky fluke, one for the fans, all thanks to Gray.

Stuff like this just ruins the credibility of the anti Benitez argument.

See , I don’t think we did necessarily play better than them , I thought the majority of good football that night was played by Arsenal.
But my criteria for what constitutes good football is probably different to yours.
For me any Everton team should aspire to not only to win but to win with class.
I don’t think this manager has ever shown himself remotely capable of that.
As I keep repeating, football is meant to be an entertainment not a chore.

I dont know Kev, my problem with Brands was, he either made some very poor decisions on player recruitment, or, didn't have the bottle to fight his corner in the face of interference from above.

I was.made up when we got him, but ultimately, for whichever reason, his tenure failed.

Brands was a highly regarded and successful DoF when we recruited him.
The problem appears to have been too much interference from our divvy owner and his coterie of nefarious agents in whom he place’s far to much credence.

Dont you think it odd, that both Brands and Walsh, both highly rated when they arrived, managed to fail so badly?

If it was Brands in isolation then yes. But thats 2 catastophic failures in a row. What are the odds?

As I understand it losses are assessed over a rolling 3 year period.

I do Kev, very odd, our owner likes to interfere and often supports his manager over his DOF. Until we appoint A DOF who will stand up to Moshiri and tell him that he must be allowed to be in charge of all football matters then we are wasting a wage employing a DOF.

I hope we get a strong DOF soon, because we can't keep letting managers come in for a year or 18 months, bring in their own players and then either be fired or leave and leave behind a lot of highly paid players we can't move on and whom the new manager doesn't fancy. Rinse and repeat.

TAA Robertson Matip are all playing. That was the same defence as against us apart from Van Dyke?
They have ample cover in midfield as their

It takes more then your back 4 to defend..
They are also missing Henderson, fabinho and thiago. They have an 18 year old and a pensioner in midfield.

Henderson who they slag off and Fabinho I’ll give you
Thiago is not a guaranteed starter IMO and isn’t that great
But I’m not that up on Liverpool but I think they look dodgy at the back without Van Dyke. They are being stretched
Anyway they aren’t missing the whole spine like we are
